Its not often you get a two albums on one cd release where each track is standout but Boats to Build and Dublin Blues are a fine example of this. This is the first thing I've ever bought by Guy Clark but I know its a keeper after having it on a few times. All twenty tracks are superb, its a songwriter wholly in command of his craft. The lyrics are witty, heartfelt, and intelligent with loads of great wordplay and his voice is one of the best I've had the listening pleasure of.

I don't know what you'd label Guy Clark with. Its not strictly country as it's not afraid to have the drums high enough in the mix to rock the listener. Some of it reminded me of Nick Lowe and GC's lyrical style is a bit Dylanish. The song 'Too Much' has a similarity to Dylan's 'Gotta Serve Somebody'. A real quality and value for money Twofer release. I'm looking forward to finding out more about his music.

I love Guy Clark. There's a beautifully poignant tribute to him by Steve Earle on his new LP - 'Goodbye Michaelangelo'

On the strength of this thread I picked up a 2 in 1 cd of this lads stuff (Old No1 and Texas Cooking)  in HMV whilst getting the new John Murry. Only 3.99, not played it yet but I am expecting nothing short of ace.
