'Henry McCullough' by BP Fallon & David Holmes. An ode to the musician in the title. Spoken word by BP with a big David Holmes soundscape backing it up. Video brill as well. Also worth a listen is the Andrew Weatherall Dub version. Bloody fucking flippin' sublime stuff if you ask me. Check it out...............I know you won't!

The semitone drop at the end of each line gives this song a really eerie feel.

'Rock n' Roll (Could Never Hip Hop Like This)' by Handsome Boy Modelling School. Heard it on Steve Lamaq. Reminds me of some of the Sabotage/ Hello Nasty era Beastie Boys. Top tune.

Computer says no when I try and embed You Tube stuff. Could somebody post this tune up on here.

Beehive by The Mark Lanegan Band and Train Kept a Rollin by Johnny Burnette. The Johnny Burnette song is as close to perfection as pop music can get.

Quite enjoying Kesha's (Cameron Diaz's?!) "Woman" - having the DAP Kings onboard helps.

It's the motherfuckin' earworm du Jour in Grind Towers.

Pretty sassy stuff Grind. I can see you shimmying about to that. The Daptone gang have a good selection on You Tube. One of my favourites is Big Wheel by Saun & Starr. And also a gospel trio called The Como Mama's. Their latest album has them backed by the Daptone lads under the name of The Glorifiers.

I had it on repeat walking the dog yesterday and was definitely getting funny looks (especially from the dog).

* Hopes he wasn't singing along too loudly

Will check out the stuff you mention - I love a "big" horn section, me....

Kesha isn't totally my cup of tea, but I guess she has a bit more talent than I first thought - she's a more extreme  trailer-trash version of the likes of Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, but clearly with some songwriting talent.

Jessie likes the "I'm a fucking border collie" version I sing on her walks. Or not.

I did check the lyrics and, perhaps I'm showing my age, but I thought there was a line that said, "Don't touch my weed."

It's actually, "Don't touch my weave."

* That would be her hair extensions, right?

** Worries about the yoof
