Thinking of selling the road bike as it's too damn hilly round here. Even the downhill bits have all got a fucking hairpin bend at the bottom so you have to take it easy.

I did a 22 miler on Sunday up on the top of the wolds and today did a swift(ish) flat ten miler on the Humberhead levels through Broomfleet. Cracking Spring day but a freezing wind. Getting my Summer mojo back after winter cycling. It's like Forrest Gump running and the calipers falling away. Fresh air and blue skies.....What more do you need? Answers on a postcard.

Did another 10 odd miles cross country last sunday. Managed to get out the sunday before only to get a puncture 5 miles or so out. no worries i thought as i had a spare tube. Fucker wouldnt inflate, well, only enough to get me going again. Got me home at least.
Ive now bought some new tubes with that green slime inside to stop the tyre deflating with the odd thorn or two in it apparently. Anyone else used them?

First trip out of the year on Monday. Fifteen miles, though fifteen miles round here is equivalent to thirty normal miles. Chuff me you cant go anywhere without plenty of climbing. It makes for great terrain but its hard work getting to that level. Anyway, its a start

Could you do the hill all the way up Newsome Rd without stopping? If you can, I applaud you sir! It used to take me a good hour walking when completely fucking spannered as a student.

Just dropped my van off for a service and put my bike in the back to cycle home. Cycled along the River Stour footpath. Gorgeous, sunny morning. Lots of Geese on the river getting ready for their day doing whatever Geese do. Eating and avoiding getting ate i guess. Another ride back later to pick my van up. Man, you cant beat a good bike ride in the countryside on a day like today.

Sounds perfect. I love it when you can incorporate a bike ride into something that needs doing. Two birds with one stone. Or should that be two geese.

Good twenty miler in today. Lovely warm tempered sunshine in and amongst the east ridges of the Pennines. Maybe a hundred yards of daffodils crowding either side of wessenden head heading up to the grassless tops of the moors is truly a wonderful site. Even the usually preposterous site of a clutch of golfers in slacks n hats somehow harmonizes with the weather. Honley is a lovely village at any time but takes on a sleepy serenity in the mid day sun. Yep, its good to be back in they saddle. Spring sunshine is a short breeze of joy, enjoy it while you can cool kids.
