I've never heard of them, so I can not truly understand if I should be mad or not.

I too love the Cubs. Great work Fred.

It is true that we have all the nicest Preston fans on this site.

This is a Preston North End fans site.

We all agree that Preston North End are the best.

They could give the Cub's a game of baseball.

Preston North End are a football (soccer) team that Clacker supports, the majority of the rest of the board support the mighty Leeds United.

On occassions you may hear us talking bollocks about them in the Leeds section.

Not paid much attention to baseball this year other than a couple of rather dull trips to my local team, the NH Fisher Cats.

They're a bit "Leeds United" if you know what I mean.

Will watch the Cubs now though.

Blimey, pulled game five out of the bag and at least won a game at WF to take it to the last two away.

Could happen

Well, that kept me up (I started watching from the sixth inning).

Fine skills by the Cubs.

Man, what drama, what a way to win the series. Best of 7 games, 3-1 down, lose a three run lead in the last innings to take it into a tie break. Rain holds up play but clinch it 8-7. No matter what sport you like that has got to be one of the best sporting finals ever anywhere. I can imagine being in North Chicago right now. I guess you have to have been there to know what I will mean to the fans and the city, well certainly the North side. The team are perennial chumps of the game, ridiculed and mocked but great fans, great craic and finally it happened for them. Made up for them.

I wasn't going to stay up, but once I started watching, the whole spectacle drew me in. Much like when the Red Sox broke their (only slightly shorter) drought a decade or so ago.

There were quite a few sub-plots going on in the latest series as well. Compelling viewing for anyone mildly interested in sport.

I don't think the Indians need to be too upset though - they have a decent team and will be back sooner rather than later..

I've seen Boston Red Sox vs NY whatstheirnames live in 2006 when James Earl Jones spoke the national anthem and I watched Moneyball on Netflix at the weekend.

I reckon if I could understand the rules and scoring I could really get into it

Boston Red Sox would be the team for me as the city has a special place in my heart
