Not a kept man as such, but we are a team. I just watch my money through the week, so I can afford a pint on a weekend.

Ahem, sisters?

Sorry MolMol, Serf has enquired before, but alas, she only has a brother. How are you feeling anyway?

Well? Behave ?

Whitelocks has gone right of my radar these days. whenever i fancy one in that part of town i pop into the Pack Horse. Any pub with a picture of Mark E Smith on the wall is fine and dandy by me

Had a couple of Deuchars in t' Locks then down t' Taps to meet three of D's ex work mates.

Two or three in there, fucking noisy or what? Loads of pin stripe types slumming it.

Finnished off in Yates'

Seven o' clock train home.

Sound.

Yes you did.

Why did you not introduce yersen.

The lasses were Katie and Marilyn, Docks ex workmates.

Whitelocks has upped its game since being taken over earlier this year. It's a lot cleaner, not just the bogs. I bobbed in Friday morning had a nice pint of something from the Hambleton Brewery, bit pricey though.

Last time I went in a few months ago, they had a new separate bar further up the alley, that looked like it was going for the "craft ale" (for that read "keg beer") gig. A fiver a pint is completely taking the piss. The complete production price of a pint, even using the highest perceived quality ingredients, is around 90 pence a pint. (The highest priced ingredients are a few pennies). The mark up is scanalous.

Trouble is, there are too many bearded, check-shirted cretins who think that paying high prices gives them some kind of gravitas as "serious, discerning, craft-ale aficianados". No, you'd still be the same bearded, check-shirt cretins if you were paying half the price for the same product in Wetherspoons.

The same has happened in many restaurants, that have now taken to charging over 4 for a 330 ml bottle of beer that costs about 1.50 elsewhere.

I say boycott these extornionists, and  bankrupt the bastards to oblivion!

That's the place, Turks Head Bar.  One medium white wine and a pint 10.40, it's okay I've managed to locate a buyer for one of my kidneys, you only need one
