I think when Joseph Dock is older I might take him to watch Hull F.C., pretty classy side from what Iíve seen on títelly.

While I cannot claim extensive knowledge of such matters, my occasional forays to Headingley have led me to conclude that Hull F.C. is a club with a much higher than average number of "rougher diamonds" among its supporters.

On one occasion I was standing among the Hull fans towards the end of game at Headingley where Hull were clearly going to win. Rather than simply enjoying the victory, or even perhaps goading the Leeds' regular supporters, the Hull fans (men and fishwives alike) decided to extract their pleasure from the disabled Leeds' supporters making an early exit from the South Stand.

To paraphrase... "Y'call yerselves surperters? Yer all ferking spessers... Yer all ferking crippels..."

Er, maybe I won't take him then. Ta for the heads up. But in their defence I have met and work with a few Hull F.C. Fans and they are very decent and sharp-witted folk. Obviously these weren't in the cretin contingent that you witnessed but still, I don't want my lad around anything like that. Looks like North Ferriby United might be getting our patronage instead then.

Don't let me put you off. I'm sure they're not all like that. Away supporters are probably not very representative of the whole. Why don't you go and see what's its like for yourself at their home ground. And I suspect that North Ferriby may have a few rough diamonds of their own.

I too have been subjected to Hull FC fans whilst in the midst of the South Stand.

I was there minding my own business when a couple of what I would loosely call women turned round and started f'ing and blinding at me. They then proceeded to goad their partners into trying to kick the shit out of me.

I simply ignored them which wound them up even more and at half time moved elsewhere. Complete and utter low lifes.

Saying that I had a great laugh with the Hull KR counterparts last year at Wembley before the final.

Every Big Rugby Club has an element of idiots regardless of how the RL Overlords like to portray the sport. Thankfully they are kept in check by the vast majority of ace supporters. Hull is no exception. The only exception to this is at Salford where it seems to be compulsory to be an utter fuckwit with dung for brains to even cross the road to the ground.

Its true there are some right pricks at Hull FC particularly at the old Boulevard Ground but that is more than made up for by the overall fanaticism, passion and commitment of the rest. Wish we had a tenth of it at Fartown. If I had the choice I'd want any lad to follow RL rather than Football these days.
