I was slabbing my daughters patio* last night and fear that all my pointing has been ruined.

Well we called...

Docks bike was chained t' lavy pipe, sounded a bit like someone shushing the dog from barking and there was a strong aroma of cooking lard but no one answered on knocking.

They must have been out, curtains shut n' all.
