Amazing name. Do they have a little old redheaded American lady but their hands up their bum while they perform?

It was this here forum that got me into Lambchop, cheers Reg. By rights dinner jazz and Country dont float my boat so combining the two really ought to send me into cataclsymic meltdown but somehow Lambchop combine it into gold by some sort of alchemistic miracle,

A house full of devotees most of whom going back way longer than me seemed to be very familliar with the band and their repetoir. Mixed bunch as well, Old young male and female. There was gentle banter between band and audience but in between a hushed reverence was  filled by the gentle almost spoken  thoughtfull narrative of Kurt and his wonderfull understated band. The whole sound filled the club with a tunefull lavish clarity, it was really quite beautiful.

Fc will be despondent to hear that the band were almost all seated. Two keyboardy types (one also playing guitar) a bass player and a soft almost incidental drummer brushing the beat. Second star of the show was the horn and wind player filling in with breathy decorative solos. It all went swimmingley well. Most of the crowd's shouted requests were jovially dismissed but every song was met with terrific love and appreciation. The whole show breezed passed in 85 minutes of sublime delicate soul music. Not as in the usual genre but to me it was just that, soul music and a wonderfull deep and viscous one at that, It was terrific and I still cant stop thinking about it

Ta for write up LD. I remember when Uncut magazine started up, Lambchop and their album Nixon were really championed and that's where I first heard about them and heard their music. Still very original and always interesting.
