yep the KCs have had their day but to leave two quality albums (or at least one) of pop perfection is enough to stop them from being "shit". great thread as well so much to agree with from every one. Music is too preciouse to sully with snobbishness and closed ears. Opinions? yes certainly.

Off to this later, a bit ambivalent about the music (apart from The Cribs) but going with a big bunch of nice people so should be a laugh.

Apparently on the chorus to 'Angry Mob' last night they sang 'We Are The Morons...'

Well, not my ideal scenario but a good night out (I think).

It was nice to be amongst the Kirkstall ruins for the first time in ages, they really are proper ruins.

The Cribs were great and the inter song banter between the Jarman brothers frequently hilarious.

The Kaisers were as you'd expect -  boisterous, efficient, professional crowd pleasers and completely one dimensional. No irony, no nods and winks, no shades of grey - literal, comic and wysiwyg.

Great light show, fireworks but no big screen which for 35 you'd expect. We were about 80 yards back and at times it felt like it was too close, lots of pushing and shoving, beer being spilled and chips flying. The audience was a mixture of the ferociously pissed and ambient families expecting to enjoy a bit of pop with their young teenagers.

Glad I went (I think).

You're all dead nice to each other on hear aren't you? Kaisers are monumentally shite. If you're up in Boston go see Wilco, tickets still available. Best American band playing today.

Elbow I think are pretty dam good. I'd be off to see them myself but they're at Terminal 5 which has to be one of the shitest venues ever.

I judge people by their musical tastes. I find it a fine barometer.

I once had a pint with Dave Cameron at a Morrisey gig in Widness. He's alright once you get to know him. As he said to me, 'Do people judge you by your job Cuts?'
