Two matches in four days. I hope the excitement doesn't get too much for me.
We have a pretty abysmal record against this lot. We haven't beaten them in the League since 1984 and thay have won all our last six encounters.

Not sure what there fans are like now - but I imagine their reputation is such that there will be a larger than average police presence.

Hopefully SG will start with Becchio.

Planning to meet a mate in the White Hart at 12:15, just in case anyone's approximately in the vicinity thereof.

ps.

Why were they chanting 'She said Yes, Simon' on Wednesday? Have I missed something?

Apparently our illustrious leader has been indulging in a little extra curricular but consenting cross jostling and I think the fans were making a comical juxtaposition with Fergie Jnrís own situation like they do

thought we battered them and deserved three or four goals - O'Dea was their best player

It makes me cringe when I hear the crown ironically clapping and cheering a player when they do something routine after a bit of a clanger. What a real supportive confidence booster that must be eh? I donít think it was the keepers fault anyway for the first goal Odea (edit, that's why i take the notes normally) should have been more directly decisive and cleared.

That said, that was the least impressive Cardiff side Iíve seen in the last ten years and still we couldnít shake the hoodoo. We were inexplicably short of vigour and aggression in and around the box. We created chance after chance that went begging and yet you canít criticize any single player. Good game I thought, entertaining and how many handballs did Cardiff give away both penalized and not seen by the ref. Are they playing basketball in training?

Becchio looked to be a little stronger and fitter when he came on. I would dearly love Howson to start taking charge of a game. Iím not having a go. I know he has the talent but after we scored and should have been looking to get at em he went missing. We kind of panicked for some strange reason when we should have pressed on and completely dominated. still that could have been a lot worse. ok with the point

Two points lost. If only SG had listened to my advice and started with Becchio then things might have been different.

All three subs made a difference when they came on. Paddy's no nonsense defending, Becchio's strength, and Lloyd Sam's pink boots.

They didn't look a great side. Turner and Whittingham and the goalie are decent players but the right back looked even older than me.

Never known ER so quiet. There were times when you could hear the players shouting as clearly as a Sunday parks game. 20,000 my arse.
Players need the crowd behind them when they are losing. Having a game scheduled for a sunday lunchtime and being televised is bound to reduce the attendance.

Generally improved performances (except maybe Keogh and O'Dea)
Thought young Lees had a fine game. Made the goal and worked well with Paddy.
