Not knowing who Brian is is making me feel alienated and angry.

Have you not read Brian's (PL2's) compelling review (above)?

Right so PL is Brian, and Brian is the name he thought someone else was called but wasn't? That's all well and good but I'm sill feeling alienated and angry.

That's it in a nutshell. Re the alienation - why don't you come up to Leeds on Mon and come with me and Foo to watch all those young people having a good time?

I don't like people enjoying themselves in my general vicinity. Especially young ones.

Everything PL said above spot on, I was completely smitten from the first sweaty chord to the last by the unique dynamics, controlled anarchy and ruthless efficiency with which they went about their business. They are a fearsome proposition lightened by the fact they don't take themselves too seriously and clearly love playing to a bunch of manic kids and older, more wizened nod-headers.

I don't think the contrast between the recorded output and the live performance has ever been so stark. Thinness is replaced by muscularity and the often meandering, improvised studio tracks are underpinned by a menacing beat and loud stabbing guitar. The Brudenell was almost full with a take no prisoners mosh pit from song 3, just after they'd seen Mick kindly retreat from stage front after studying the singer's guitar for a sort while.

They are a hypnotic combination with a bovver boy bassist and an accountant-looking drummer whose concentration was engrossing, as he seemed to study the execution of every beat as if it might be his last. The girl bashed away on the tambourine whilst Brian called the shots, taking them in varying directions knowing that three pairs of eyes were trained on him so that with a nod of the head they were seamlessly back in the relentless groove.

A great gig  - easily the best of the year so far just for the velocity and pace withy which it was executed.  Great company (as you’d expect), a bit of a later finish than we’d planned so hope Foo was up for his early shift OK. We didn’t get to meet Brian but he said some nice words about Leeds and I expect them back before too long and if there’s any band worth a return journey from London to see this is definitely them.

What he said...

First of all I'd like to start by saying Youtube doesn't do this group service whatsoever I watched them on there & thought "its a night out we'll see how it goes". As Butts & Brian have put it you can't take your eyes off the band all sorts going off. The drummer looked as he was about to cry or cum or both! Such was the intensity in his performance.

Being the youngest Regger there I haven't as much experience to compare this band to but my analysis was a B52's on acid but ten times better than the B52's only my opinion.

Great to see Lol again been far too long. Mick on fine form & got better the more bitter pumped through his veins, the man's been through a very graphic Mill that will take a while to remove from my mind. Butts as always a pleasure to meet up with.

Mrs Mick offered us a different perspective on this.
