Know what you mean about the attendance. During 'Abide With Me' I thought it looked really empty. Either it's too dear as you say or they haven't got the right people promoting the sport. A lot of those empty seats could have been sold at in bulk to schools from the areas of the respective teams. In doing that the stadium looks full and has more noise and atmosphere and secondly you harness a new generation of fans. Easy innit!

The actual seat prices aren't all that expensive (£31 for ours, alright it isn't a give away, but..) its the price of everything else that is astronomical. A five pound taxi ride is a ten pound one, a three pound pint is four quid. An £8 pub meal is £12. £7-£8 for an all day tube pass (its half that on the continent most places, often less) 50 quid each for a basic twin and that was a special offer.

Got a very decent quality brekky and cup of tea for £5.50 though from a place near Warren St tube we go to. I thought i was helping him out by making up the exact price with a few pennies. He looked at me like i was giving him herpes.

Are sure he didn't look at you like you had given his DOG herpes? It'd be nearer the mark for one of you Pennine dwellers.

Went to the challenge cup final this weekend. Nothing to fear from either Wigan or Hull. Great weekend as usual but its certainly lost its pulling power. Maybe only 3/4 full despite the outrageous "sell out" claims. Plenty of Wigan and Hull fans as you'd except but the neutrals like us don't go down in the numbers they used to. A few reasons for that I think, the grand final taking over, the change of time of year for instance but bugger me it isn't cheap down there is it? Beer, Hotels, Taxis, Tubes and most meals are hideously expensive. Mind you anyone buying anything from in and around the stadium deserve all the ripping off they get

RL is obsessed with crowd numbers. They will tell you numbers have increased every year since the inception of Super League. Have they fuck, practically every game you watch has swathes of unsold seats in small grounds, unless it's at Headingley where a 14/15 thou crowd can pretty much make the ground look well occupied.

RL is a great game run by amateurs who couldn't organise a piss up. It can't even attract a sponsor for the Super League for the second season, I get fed up of Eddie n' Stevo reminding me of certain games when there is a 20sq. yard logo you can't miss in the middle of the field and your screen, concentrate on the game chaps, you need to. Having a morbidly obese bloke at the top of the game is not a good image either.

Sky has attempted to take the game to a place it will never go, instead of recognising the ceiling that RL has then working to strengthen the game from there.

We're claret an Gold, We're claret an Goooooolld, we're Huddersfield Giants, We're claret an Gold. †

And Champions † . First major thing we've lifted for 81 years, what a night. Yeah Play offs are the big thing and the Grand final is the one but for now, this'll do.

There was a time when Fartown were as much a part of the weekend as LUFC are. One had to go and that was sadly Fartown † . Still get to 3 or 4 games a season and they are still my team, It was brilliant tonight to be part of it with my mates who still follow the club all over and I'm so chuffed for the ace Ken Davy . Oh to have a chairman like him at LUFC

All this play-offs bollocks is stupid, you won the league, you were the best team overall over the duration of the season and that's what matters.

Has anybody else noticed that Leeds Rhinos fans not only have a transfer of the ridiculous club badge in the centre of their back windscreen, but in case other drivers don't get who they support they also have a mini replica kit stuck up there as well. Tacky Herbert's. I always thinks its ironic when I see the 'Rhinos 4 Life' windscreen adornment because the people who climb out of the car are approximately the same weight and shape of the aforementioned tusked animal.

Made our annual trip to the challenge cup final. Great weekend, very compressed to what it used to be. Got the train down Friday lunch and back on the 6pm Saturday. Not the same now is it but still a good trip. Had an ace day n half on the piss in that there. Friday we had a bit of a nostalgia trip to the Hard Rock cafe and then Camden like we used to do in the '80s.

Saturday pre match we've sussed a great pub by Warren St called the Mason Arms. Straight up to Wembley then on the fast tube without getting embroiled in all the Baker St malarkey. Top weekend.

Genuinely didn't care who won. I was happy for either. Leeds to get the monkey off their back and †Cas as underdogs. As it happens Cas just didn't turn it on but stayed strong and Leeds did the right things throughout. Im sure Sheeps would have been delighted.

After cleaning up it's act, is RL reverting to the good old bad old days or am I just going a bit 'nesh' from living down S for too many years?

One of these days, i don't know when or where, one of my teams is going to rise for the big occasion and not fold and shrink like cheap bacon in the pan.

For thirty five minutes in that semi final second half we went toe to toe with the Rhinos and got on top. They were fucked. But like great champions they found a way, as they did again against Saints and we found a new way to fuck things up. I knew as soon as the hooter went we'd get hammered at Wigan, and we did.

So c'mon Leeds, do it. ALL Yorkshire are behind you.

If I am honest I thought they would have had about 12 points by now and mid table safety. Should have got results against Udders and Cas to be honest but hey such is life. I was expecting mid table and maybe the semis of the cup.

There's more than the horrendous injury situation to blame here. To lose two natural leaders in Sinfield (backs) and Peacock (forwards) wasn't going to be easy. The holes under the sticks when defending their line are massive. Down to no one organising them on the field. I hoped the likes if Sutcliffe might stand up and be counted but him and a couple of others are conspicuous by their absence on the field/

I suppose those wanting a conspiracy theory will say Kev and Jamie ran the team and McDermott was simply the coach in name only. I do think back to earlier last season when King Kev announced he was moving to play Union and McDermott dropped him only to see a dip in form so he was brought back. That was badly handled I thought.

The worry is, and it isn't inconceivable now, that they will be dragged into a relegation battle. And I am not sure that the current injury team has got enough fight in them to handle it.

Of course they will no doubt be able to play the Maurice Lindsey Wigan card of a few years ago. Ground not up to standards etc etc

The meltdown of the British political system and its parties, terrorism, and widespread human suffering across our planet are monumental in their impact upon the minds and souls of the human race. But there is one bigger and vastly more important future event that is distracting people from the aforementioned harbingers of doom. Well, at least in Hull and the East Riding. HULL F.C. ARE IN THE FUCKING CHALLENGE CUP FINAL!!!!!!

I grew up in Wakefield which is a big RL area but since moving over here Iíve realised that itís close to religion in these here parts. Even though they arenít my team itís hard not to get swept up in the pre-match hype. Even the derby matches are billed as the biggest thing since, well, since the last derby match. I think when Joseph Dock is older I might take him to watch Hull F.C., pretty classy side from what Iíve seen on títelly.

While I cannot claim extensive knowledge of such matters, my occasional forays to Headingley have led me to conclude that Hull F.C. is a club with a much higher than average number of "rougher diamonds" among its supporters.

On one occasion I was standing among the Hull fans towards the end of game at Headingley where Hull were clearly going to win. Rather than simply enjoying the victory, or even perhaps goading the Leeds' regular supporters, the Hull fans (men and fishwives alike) decided to extract their pleasure from the disabled Leeds' supporters making an early exit from the South Stand.

To paraphrase... "Y'call yerselves surperters? Yer all ferking spessers... Yer all ferking crippels..."
