Seems to be an excuse for the pair of them to do impressions but there's nowt wrong with that, I love it.
This is nearly as divisive as the Inception thread. Or the Tizer thread.

I'd've probably enjoyed it much more if I'd seen it.

I love both of them so I'm officially IN. Loved the first episode, some great middle age male observations, so this may turn out to be a bit of a classic.

i liked it quite a bit. the chat, the weird friendship they have, how they take off voices, the competition between them, the kitchen scenes, the totty, the food, the walks, the countryside, the cars, the pathos, the pace

very agreeable

Second episode is great too. I could watch them doing impressions all evening, very funny. Double IN.

Maybe too subtle and demanding intelectually for the Otlpontcasterstone viewer.

Five episodes in and this has the makings of a bit of a classic.

In amongst the competitions to do the best impression of Peter Sellers, there is a great big dollop of pathos from Coogan as he reveals how his unending competitive nature has lead to him being largely alone. Now I know this is how the part is written but the beauty is in the superb naturalness of the acting from all concerned. So real and documentary-like it is at times, I had to check Wikipedia to see if he actually has a teenage son as featured in the Yorke Lodge episode (he doesn't). Brydon is also ace as a happier, less driven character and the comic interplay between them is wonderful.

It also featured a scene with Atomsphere by Joy Division in it so from me.

They're at the Angel Inn in Hetton tonight. I had one of the best meals I've ever eaten there about four years ago - turbot.

Angel Inn? I got the impression some of these places were fictional! Had a couple of great lunches there over the years for big Clan celebrations

Only just got into this. Don't know how I missed it the first time as I'm a big Steve Coogan fan. Its been repeated. Only two episodes in and I love it. I had no idea that they were such good impressionists. The Anthony Hopkins and Older Michael Caine had me pissing my pants. Looking forward to the rest of the series. End of dispatch.

PS Rob Brydon's Richard Burton was faultless. 674/10

Very funny.

I reckon Coogan's going to thump Brydon by the end of the series.
