Although I seem to be talking to mi'sen, I've also been asked to a 'guest appearance' short Q&A at Waterstones Leeds writers thing on the 4th. So skip the do and come to Whielocks for about 8 30.

This book is such an easy sell compared to the others. Something to do with a fella called Zeitgeist.

Cheers NOC. Don't worry Codge I know what that life thing's like. If you can it'll just be a bonus.

Thursday 4 November 2010 7pm, event at Waterstone's Leeds to mark the publication of three new books of Leeds interest: Wes Brown, Shark; Anthony Clavane, Promised Land; Ian Duhig, Pandorama. Chaired by The Hounding of David Ouwale author Kester Aspden.

Kester?

Isn't he the one who descibed you at our-best-mate-Peacey-boy's evening out as the "transexual who wrote a book"?

Yes that's the fella. I let that one go, he has done excellent bigging up in the past so, as he's recognised my literary genius, I forgive him.

Good turn out for his launch tonight although aside from the Mick clan the only person I really knew was Onandoff from OMJ, what a gent. We bailed for Seven after an hour or so and left Mick to his signing, seemed to be shifting loads with Mick jnr in charge of the cash.

Had a nice coffee and Bakewell tart in Seven  - well it is Saturday night.

So you were in Seven Bar drinking coffee, and I was around the corner nipping in to the Co-Op for a chocolate orange.

The bubbling crucible of hedonism that is Chapel Allerton on a Saturday night. FFS!   I bet Springsteen never spends his Saturdays like this.

Mick, the Waterstone's site says you're there at 11am on Saturday, but do you know for how long?

I'm there on Friday night 7pm for Viz bloke Simon Donald signing etc, and going out afterwards.  Anyone else up for it?  There will be a few beers partaken or is it partook? afterwards, I know that much.

A short day, Mr McCann.

Myself and the Grand-Duke of Gomersal arrived around 3 pm to add our support, but you were nowhere to be found. I broke all known bloke-conventions and reduced myself to asking a member of staff as to your whereabouts.

After much discussing among themselves and checking with their events flyer, they appeared to be shocked that I was actually correct and that a) No, I didn't want to talk to the Gruffalo chap b) Today was Saturday 20th November and c) You were scheduled to be there today.

One brave young filly finally confessed that she thinks she may have spotted you, if you were the transvestite* signing books by the main entrance. But that you'd gone home.

*I guess Kester Aspden must have primed her**
**She didn't really say that transvestite bit. Kester told me to put it in***
***He didn't really

I hope you're joking PM.

I was there from 11 until 6, had a table right next to the main tills and if I left it was for no more than regular 3 mins to sneak a fag with a 'Back In 5 Mins' sign on the table and keeping an eye on it....other than once when I once went to get another bucket of coffee from Costa and a quick piss. There was a bit of a queue.

The staff all seemed quite switched on so if you came down I'm well sad I missed you......soz. What's mi'penance?

Other than this, great day.
