It's a funny thing having a dog. You get so concerned if the thing is acting differently or has hurt itself.

Was out with my springer a few weeks ago and as he was running around he let ut a loud yelp and started limping badly. Felt myself getting concerned a bit like your first child when a rash appears and you rush them off to A&E only to feel might emarassed (and relieved of course) when it's nothing.

Of course a dog is more like the 2nd child syndrome - if that rash appears on them you think 'fuck it can't be arsed taking them to A&E'.

And of course with a dog vet bills fill your mind.

Anyway to put you out of your suspense my dog was obviously in discomfort every time he cocked his leg but after about a week it had gone. Which is good news as I watched Supervet the other day and ended up removing all the bone in a dogs leg after his owner had heard him yelp whilst running. That was cancer

Here's a question. Can a dog be racist? Reason i ask is that my mate has a Jack Russel. Fucking bonkers as you'de expect but apart from that a lovely animal. (That bastard has called it after me actually but thats another story)

Any way, She's a bit of a yelper and barker especially when other dogs come into the pub AFTER her. If she comes into a pub where there are dogs there already she's meek and mild, often skulking low if its a big dog. Any way she only has to look at anybody Asian specially if they are dressed traditionally and she starts growling. Not loud or overtly aggresive just inwardly very annoyed. My mate swears blind he hasnt trained her and i beleive him as he is pretty "right on" and in any case his care worker/Social worker missus would not tolerate such things.

She has earned the name Knocker now because of it

I think they are sensitive to anyone who looks or smells different to the owning family who they are used to being with all the time

Now that's not being racist - we know dogs have noses hundreds of times more sensitive than humans and we know the South Asian diet when eaten almost every mealtime for a life time makes you smell a bit different to the usual traditional North Western European diet

A lot of Asians appear to be very scared of dogs. It could be a cultural thing, passed on from older generations, fearful of the threat of rabies. Children especially starting shying away, acting as if the dog is threatening to attack them, even if the animal is taking no notice of them. Perhaps adults also tense up, but control their outward appearance, and this is what the dog is picking up on?

So  I guess the burning question is now - are Asians doggist?

Mine don't (now doesn't) like Americans much either.

Or golden retrievers.

Or cats.

Or squirrels.

Or me if I don't put food out on a regular basis.

Mine doesn't like dogs. Full stop. Shame as he is a very large thoroughbred springer and would make good breeding stock. Shed a bit of semen for me and I might make a few lol. Not bad for the runt of the litter

Not sure why he isn't a dogs dog. He's not scared of other dogs but blatently ignorant of them. Any come near him and he just gives them the brush off.

He is actually a peoples dog. Doesn't realise that people don't want him muddying them if we go out for a walk and he comes across someone else

I see the 'burton heritage is coming out there H

Very interesting that Bull and PM , ta v much i shall give that some contemplating. When we are in the Rat and she sees the Lads from the takeaway next door through the big glass window she gets all snarley then. Sure she cant get a scent through the glass but maybe she just associates the apearence with the scent.

Maybe she once suffered bad after effects after raiding the bin and scoffing the leftovers from a dodgy prawn bhuna, and remembers how the delivery driver was dressed?

Forgot to say Muslims don't keep dogs - at least the vast majority don't - it's a cultural and religious thing about not keeping dirty beasts in the house

Picture will (obviously) be put up later, but we have a new furry friend at Grind Towers - a girl border collie born on Jan 20th - yet to be named.

She's well ace and that.

Jessie (b 20/1/17)

All are doing well - she already wants to go outside to do her business (at 3am....the furry fecker), although there won't be too much outdoor playtime today as we're getting "a bit of" snow.

That is not a blue dildo, before anyone asks.....

She looks big in this picture for 8 weeks old, but looks tiny in the picture posted later of her in the crate. Has she shrunk in the wash?

I can't work out if she's big or small for her age either - she's younger than the other two we've brought home in the past.

I think she was 11.6 lbs on Monday.

Our older bc is about 31 lbs.

This is her dad, Notch - he's been doing some photo stuff to sell doggie products. He's also a national agility champion of some sort, so I'll definitely have my hands full.
