Leeds city centre resembled a war zone afterwards (even more so than the average Saturday night). Spencer's had run out of beer. I like those new-fangled pubs on Water Lane, though - especially the Midnight Bell.

A fine day out indeed. Full roll call:

FC
Butts
Seal
Foo
Plastic Man
Sheeps
BLF
Robert Robertson
T'Bearing
Ashdapash
Late Doors
Stripe
Leb (haven't seen that lad for a year, and when I did catch up with him yesterday I was pissed, sorry if was blethering on mate)
Mrs. Leb

Had a good chat with everyone, and it was great to see such a big turn out, those of you who weren't there were missed. My first time in The Midnight Bell, and my first and last time in The Cross Keys (a very unfriendly atmos, and everybody in there had a face like a smacked arse)

Every one of you makes each Regfest a great day for me. A cracking set of lads. 10/10

My only complaint was that Foo didn't do any of his impressions, not even the one where he dons a beret and makes a joke about his cat doing a whoopsee. That always has me in stitches, but then I'm a bit limited.

Of course Leeds was the suitable meeting place for this Regfest due to there being a certain football match on, but I think next time we could pick somewhere that's a bit more mileage friendly to our reggers who travelled up from London, Stafford, Leamington Spa, Pierce Bridge and Sarfend. It's time the Yorkshire contingent got off our arses and went somewhere else methinks.

See you all next time!

Thanks Ash for your texts and your call, much appreciated - even tho I didn't know what 'the Bell' was.

Me and my g/f got the bus from Miggy into town for 630ish, and I suggested we go in to the Adelphi for a couple of early, pre-cram, pre-queueing mayhem later on.  Ended up in there all night, missed my other party of mates too, they ended up in Slug and Lettuce I think.  Had a good night and good Landlord ale.  Went into the Red Lion opposite too for a swift pint as it's next to a taxi rank.  Blimey, it was like Star Wars' Cafe in there, I won't be going in again  Another 'new' pub on the list for my good lady though.

Also forewent a 40th surprise birthday party as well, and they reportedly had a great night too.

God bless you all, hope to one day meet you all.

Nice to see everyone again.  And to meet LD, RR and LP for the first time.

Next time hopefully for Foo, BLF and Ash.

PM - did you receive the 'adult reading material'?

Butts - hope i didn't scare you too much with the one-way street 'misunderstanding'. Or the three failed attempts at parking.

Me and t'B will investigate ideas for a Midlands Regfest.
There's the village produce show and a Young Farmers Hog Roast coming up soon.

Texted t'B a few times day and evening to give my best to everyone there. So pleased you all had a great time. Got back from the sailboat to hear the result, much amusement to my reaction. Celebrated in my nephew's pub (he's a scum fan) till late and a number of scarves and a 20 year old barmaid went missing over the course of the night. I returned the barmaid this morning, the scarves are still missing. Due back on Tuesday but looks like the airport will be closed. Oh well, I'll soldier on.

Great to meet everyone. Apologies to all I was completely hammered!

What a day. Manged to get the 8.45 train - several York Whites singing their heads off all the way to York. I think because of my black coat they thought I was a copper. That was amusing.

Ended up in local boozer just after 10pm  - Left there at 1 am totally wrecked. I've not been that drunk or deleriously happy for many a year.

i'm glad you all had a great day!

I decided weeks ago i couldnt go to this for a number of reasons 1/convinced theyd lose if i jinxed them 2/ confident i'd have got caught up with the emotion and thrown out/arrested 3/ chance of stroke or heart attack

as it was i got to follow it online on one of the betting channels - and still almost burst blood vessels shouting and had a coronary in that last 30mins

i couldnt even meet up later as i was in huddersfield finishing a project

i didnt get back into leeds till 10.30 - however i got into the full mood of the promotion at an impromptu promotion party at the Rock Bar where a few of the players turned up for a drinks as Dom Matteo has some share of the Bar. It was surreal talking shit and endless praise to young Snoddy, Casper and being a real twofaced bastard telling Andrew Hughes what a wonderfully versatile player i thought he was    Kisnorbo was with them too as were Higgs and a few who i didnt recognise - maybe loaness or fringe squad players - they were all in matching suits and tie and had neglected to put their numbers on the back.

It was an amazing moment when the DJ put on some leeds number including Marching On Together and inevitably KC and the Sunshine Band. Most of this cramped bar just singing and shouting and waving their arms and jumping up and down as all the flashes went off with people grabbing pics with the Leeds lads

Almost made up for not getting to the game... but of course GUTTED i wasnt there now

Answered my earlier question Serf.

Thing is about Hughes - he is ORDINARY  as a player, but the emotion and passion and dare I say it, love, for the team and the club and fans, as shown by him after the final whistle, he's world class in my eyes now and I won't slag him off ever again.  Well, unless he really does something v v v bad.

If only, oh if only the same dedication and spirit were shown by Lucas the Kop Cat then there would be no stopping us

What did I say?  "fuck him, he'll be alright"

And I was correct. Going to get some of them kiddie reins for him next time.

Good to see y'all anyway, really enjoyed the day, especially the bit when Bearing was at Elland Road.

Great that the out of towners from Cas n' that made the effort.

Ash dint look that drunk to me and I can't think of a good reason for that.

The Cross Keys pub was a very nice establishment (some have spent too long in t' Walton Working Mens Club) full of nice well rounded individuals.

LD says he has a gig at his place of works 150th anniversary bash, Huddersfields Got Talent FFS. He is up against a bloke trying to find his nose and the Mayor of Huddersfield with a labrador.

Butts must spend a deal of time in his loft, the picture/portrait/image/cave drawing of him must be a right ugly bastard by now, he could have been Fartcatchers grandson. Who couldn't?

Seals manners have improved greatly:
Sheeps - Ey up Matt
Seal - Where's my Playstation controler yer bastard?
Sheeps - Fine thanks

PMs false limp fooled nobody,
"Struggling mate, can you go to the bar for us?"
"No problem"
"Struggled to get to the cash point machine mate, can you pay for em"

Ran into the Marx Brothers a bit later. One had the wife n' kids with him.

Robert Robinson came as Heathcliffe just in case we'de forgotten where he lived.

Averagestripe was on orange juice the puff "oooh I'm doing a bit of running in the morning". When I were a lad it were fifteen pints on a Saturday night, good puke just before kick off on a Sunday morning and another ten after.

Did I meet The Leeds Poet? Hope he doesn't think that's my usual state (bad influences see).

But enough about me, enjoyed it, when we doing it again?
