Nobody ever listens though Butts, it goes in one ear and out of the other.

I thought things would change when whatserface left after the Jonathon Ross saga, but it still seems to be exactly the same.

I know but since they shut the Feedback board on the 6Music website when the Lamb thread topped 11,000 posts something had to be done. Its early days and its not the easiest forum to navigate (yet) but at least it gives us some room to let off steam.

Surely its down to the station with who they use as a DJ and what music they play isnt it?
Im as pissed off as the next person who has listened to 6 music and seen it go down hill like it has. Can we ,the listener really do anything about it ?

If it were only that simple. It stopped being about the DJ and the music ages ago. George Lamb is but a symptom of the disease, albeit an extremely viral and unpleasant one.

The BBC has lied and spun in its attempt to portray 6Music as the alternative, innovative station it once was and has dumbed it down to such an extent that it has breached its charter remit for the station over and over again.

There have been attempts to deny a voice to the campaign (more recently in the taking down of the Feedback message board because of "internal moderating resource issues") and incidents of harrassment and hounding of certain people who have been very vocal and active in their attempts to draw quality issues to the attention of the wider media.

This lack of openness and dishonesty has meant that quite a few people think that the BBC should be held to account for its actions and is constituationally obliged (and funded) to provide an "innovative and alternative" digital music station that provides access to "new music and music not covered by the mainstream FM stations". As it is patently not doing this with 6Music we've got the hump and a a considerble bit between our teeth.

Meant to add that if your on Facebook, there's a 'Get Lamb off 6Music' group and an ongoing and very typical "dialogue" with one of Lamb's cronies, a person who until recently appeared on his show and who, as a BBC employee, breached his terms of employment by posting on the station's message board under an assumed name.

When we uncovered his identity he was removed from show but has since made a number of threats which we think can only be done with a tacit understanding of the Lamb programme producer, who has also been on leave of absence recently. Its quite unpleasant but they seem determined to dig their own grave. Lamb is off to TV soon, though, but is set to be replaced in the morning slot by Alex Zane.

I wouldn't listen to make the comparison. Its a weekday evening station for me with a bit of Guy Garvey and Don Letts on listen again from time to time. Stuart Macconie's Freak Zone can be a decent show but even he's lost half an hour to accommodate Dave Pearce's Dance Anthems for fucks sake.

Erm if being in my early 20's means child then yes.

But I'm more of an 80's acid/House/Techno boy myself.
