Love it, John Lee Hooker, Sonny Boy Williamson, Leadbelly, Peter Green, Seasick Steve, Otis Spann, Rory Gallagher, Josh White to name a few.

Not keen on Clapton.

Thats great Butts. Did a trip from Nashville to Memphis all the way down to the coast then onto New Orleans in 1991 alot of it down Highway 61 including the crossroads with 49 thats supposed to be THE crossroads.

Used to Love Clapton as a kid but ageing makes you wiser PL. He did some of his best stuff with John Mayal imo leb. Not sold on Seasick Steve though to be honest, dont know why, maybe its the "story" behind him, im a bit sceptical.Off to Chicago in the Summer, need a li'll shot of Rhythm n Blues, cant wait

Really good electric bluesman: R.L. Burnside. Great album he did with Jon Spencer of Blues Explosion fame called 'A Ass Pocket of Whiskey'. Think it's on Fat Possum Records???? First heard it as warm up music for a band that were playing at the Casbah Club in Johnson City T.N. (if you lot are going to place-drop, so am I )

Was also lucky enough to see B.B. King at his Blues club in Memphis T.N., an afternoon performance. It was sold out, but got a spare ticket from a pissed up Southern gent called Brent Goodman from Milan Tennessee, he was in Memphis to meet up with his bit on the side, but she'd let him down. He decided to drown his sorrows with a tequila bender for the rest of his trip, and I bought her ticket off him (£30), and spent the gig with him, listening to B.B., drinking whiskey, and talking with him about the 'Goddamn nerve of the bitch' that stood him up. Ace!

Recently downloaded the entire discography of Stevie Ray Vaughn - so am back on a blues revival myself. Just joined a covers band doing a lot of blues (Hebden Bridge Trades Cub - 22nd May!! wink wink)

Have always found Buddy Guy works quite well.

BB King at Leeds Uni a while back. Great guitarist without playing much at all.

For Chicago style - check out Larry Big Twist Nolan and the Mellow Fellows.

Buddy Guy. I'm just not sure about him. I saw him play at Shepherds Bush one night, i knew about him anyways.

1. Saw an interview once where he basically claimed that he taught Hendrix the guitar.

2. Tells a story about Muddy Waters demanding him to play with him, says he sent a bunch of fellas in a car to get him. "you're going to see the Mud' he says they said to him, he thought they were saying you're going to ge mugged. I don't believe it.

3. Plays the guitar in a fashion that looks like it's as hard as digging a ditch with a spoon and that he's getting divine inspiration for it.

For those reasons i'm out.

He was ace before he went all plank spanking. Met him in his club a couple of times, had loads of time for us all despite the fact we were leathered and over him like a rash. Think he was rather impressed by me 'n my mates anorakish knowledge of his days playing with Junior Wells. We knew more about them than he did.
