I like that.

Looks like it was filmed on the beach at Seaton Sluice before they cleared all the coal away.

Bullet the Blue Sky by U2. It's the bassline. Total class. It's been buzzing round in my head for the last fortnight. I love the Joshua Tree album me! 30th anniversary of its release this year. I know it became fashionable amongst the chin-stroking fraternity to slag them but I think they are a great band.

I think that was the last album of theirs that I've had much time for.

Will check your recommendation out.

Interesting.

I hadn't paid too much attention to that bassline before.

* Gets sore thumb *

dont mind them musically but jeez they are awefull when they interview/pontificate/generally ponce about. i think that's what puts people off them and invites derision.

Uncanny, i was only reading about a new complilation out from the man last week and put it on the list to get. Not mad on compilations but it seemed a great collection as i dont know that much about him. Best of the Dualtone years its called

Same here LD. I'd never heard of him until his death, but he seems to be very highly regarded and has quite a hefty back catalogue.

My ear worm this week is 'Fire and Brimstone' by Link Wray from his 1971 self-titled album. Bit of a departure from his usual style but a great track. More country rockish than his rockabilly noir twangfests but dead good.

'Makeba' by a singer from Toulouse called Jain. Really catchy electronic French pop with an African feel. The album came out a couple of years ago but only heard this for the first time this week. Wicked video as well if anybody can embed it.

Also a track called 'Talking Black' by Anatoly Ice and Daria.

Know How by Young MC from 1989. From that great late 80's era of hip hop before rap was about guns and money. Total master class!
