Have not worn anything else but docks for the past 20 years (it's those size 13's LD - doc shoes are so comfortable)
]
Love our local Toby carvery - all you can eat for 7.95/ Worth going LD if only to watch the spectacle of greedy wankers piling their plates up high and leaving half of it even though you can go back up as many times as you want

With you on Game of Thrones although I do hear it blaring out when Heyho jnr has it on

To coin an Old Codger saying 'nowt happened' but I was 'friendly' with a Rochdale lass when I was at Poly. She sat on my knee for half the night in her wedding dress when she got married and we still exchange Christmas Cards. Not that I have seen her for 25 years. Oh and she rung me a few months back as well which I don't thing went down too well with Mrs H.

I went to Hull most recently last Thursday. Some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. (Cave Street chippy.)

Fish special - big portion of hake, chips and mushy peas/gravy/curry sauce - 3.50.

If you haven't had hake, give it a go. There's a reason it's one of, if not the most popular fish in Spain.

Hake is delicious, sadly most plebs that go into chip shops won't try anything out of the ordinary.  I had battered mackerel and chips in Weymouth last year, that was sublime and as mackerel is abundant in the sea it's also sustainable.

Just come back from Dorset and we had mushy pea fritters. Doesn't get much better.

I don't think I've ever seen mushy pea fritters on offer, let alone sampled one. Something to keep a look out for.

Further to my post about the F&Cs I had in Hull, one additional factor that I forgot to mention was that they were fried in dripping, something that one does not come across often enough these days.

A majority of places use vegetable oil, which does produce a crisper chip (if that is your preference), but they tend to be nondescript, while dripping adds flavour.

This place in Netherton Huddersfield uses dripping, its excellent. As you say, the chips are a bit soggy but taste fantastic

I used a chainsaw today. They're flipping ace and that.

Not travelled First Class, unless staggering through their carriage to get to the buffet car counts.

Never been a McDonalds player escort.
Never jumped out of an aeroplane.
Never finished a Times crossword without cheating.
Never replaced a whole toilet (although there are two I'm supposed to be "doing" in the near future).
Never been to Liverpool except when going to footy matches.
