Holy, and quite frankly, moley! Look at this for a throw and a catch. Can't ever remember seeing anything like this before in T'NFL. Good work lads!

It was quite special, although they still ended up losing.

* Catch it like Beckham. *

The game I went to yesterday (I've got season tickets, me) wasn't brilliant, but at least the right team prevailed and it wasn't freezing or raining.

It's not made it to us yet, thankfully - just a minor dusting that melted almost immediately.

Last year it seemed as if we got a foot of the stuff delivered every Monday, which was no fun if you're trying to build a garage.

I think a foot of snow is equivalent to roughly an inch of rain, so I'm sure there's a double-whammy of a flood going on in parts of Buffalo at the moment with the rise in temperature.

I was trying (and failed) to have a sensible argument with someone here recently about why emissions should be controlled - I said that I wasn't convinced by localised warming or cooling (even if global warming does seem plausible), but you could pretty much guarantee that weirder weather events would definitely happen if you insist on chucking shit up into the atmosphere.

There's no educating pork.

The video refereeing seems to work okay (it would be a pain in the arse for proper footie though) - basically the call on the field is only overturned in the event of clear evidence to the contrary.

Looked a good catch to me.

On a separate note, I've already been tapped up for the post-season play-off tickets (which, to be fair, will probably come into play if the current form continues).

$670 total for a pair of (admittedly quite decent) seats to (provisionally) two games.

* It's not cheap here.

I've often wondered why there isn't more rugby-style passing (it is allowed) as there are definitely situations where it would work and work well.

I can only assume it's because almost all of the plays are planned and practiced ad infinitum to the extent that most players on the pitch are so focused on their "job" that anything weird is never likely to be tried unless there's bugger-all time left.

Plus, they'd get a bollocking from their coach, prolly.

A bit like Leeds - we spend so much time devising new and improved tactical schemes to cough the ball up to the opposition that simply playing a ten yard ball to feet is totally out of the question.

I've made better catches than that.

That could also be said about a lot of Leeds Rhinos fans.

There was a bit of argy-bargy in the seats in front of us at yesterday's game with the Miami Dolphins. Not with some of the interspersed Dolphins fans - who were surprisingly gobby, given they were obviously outnumbered (and their team was, eventually anyway, shown to be shite) - but between some Patriots fans. Weird.

I know it's not entirely unheard of at footie matches either (guilty as charged), but there are an awful lot of people who show up for these games almost too pissed up to know in which direction they should be looking.

Given that the face value of the tickets in the section I was in go for something like $135, it seems a bit bonkers.

* I'm getting old? *

I'm guessing there must be "rougher" places to go here as an away fan, but even I think Boston as a city has more than its fair share of surly, aggressive and unfriendly gobshites.

Ace!

A thoroughly grating accent too.

FFS - her Grindstressness is away again this weekend, so I have a spare for the AFC divisional game (effectively a q/f to the Super bowl) between the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens this Saturday.

I'm guessing no-one on here is, errr, here?!

Fair enough - I think my "radio station" mate is going to tag along this time.

He's about six foot six, quite loud, played as a defensive linebacker for UMass (a better-than-decent college team) and is * cough * a declared New York Giants fan

This could end up being a bit like taking Roy Keane into the kop to watch Leeds play Chelsea.

* Regretting it already - any spares for the Reebok?!

Just got back from the AFC final demolition of Indianapolis.

I guess the question now is, given that I only missed one home game all season, should I make an attempt to get to the Superbowl?
