Yorkshire Amateur A.F.C.

That is just about the fucking limit!!!!!

A knock on my front door at about 6ish tonight. A bloke representing the Leeds Yorkshire Amatuers football club community scheme. After a donation. WTFF?????

I asked him what for and he explained that they need money for transport to and from games and floodlights etc. At the time I had Dock Junior in my arms and I said to the man "I'll tell you what, when he starts playing football I'll put some money towards his leisure activities" and then shut the door on the chiseling twat. The Fucking effrontery of him. What's next weeks scheme? A couple of suggestions:

1. We can only afford Filey but Ive promised the kids Disneyland Community Scheme

2. I bought my Lad a Blue Bike but he fancies one in Silver Community Scheme

Fair enough if it was some fundraising activity, but doorstepping people at their home address???????

PAY FOR YOUR OWN FUCKING KIDS!

I'm fucking livid me!

Sheeps, you know who's who in amateur football. PM me the address of who I should complain to about this. Going to contact the club but I want someone higher up, Yorkshire Youth Football whatever.

Ring The W.R. County F. A. at Fleet Lane Woodlesford, or better still e-mail.

Got to agree with you, not on. It is difficult cash wise to run any football team, I do some fund raising through the summer for the lasses, ran a 6 a side league this year, made about 400 which gives us a leg up for the season. Begging is another matter.

YA play at a decent level with a fair bit of travelling and they do have facilities to keep up, I'm guessing they also pay their players (not a great deal) as most teams at that level do. This is half the problem, get above the park stuff and money is the motivator unless you have come through the juniors (don't bother).

?Yorkshire Amateurs pay the players. Change their name to Yorkshire Part Time Amateurs and people might feel more genero us.  They also charge admission to watch don't they?  If they don't then they should start.

Totally agree with you Dock.

My reaction would have been similar if only to add 'well you are down the last after cancer research, help the aged, candlelighters oh and about another 500 more worthy charities'.

Adds - well actually I refuse to give to any charity given the amount of waste I have seen.

Plus, these donations wil not be for the kids teams. Kids teams make money hand over fist from their own endeavours, betting the senior section take 100 quid or so a month from each junior team too.

I'm proud to say (repeat endlessly) that the only charge made to any of our teams is 120 per annum.

2.30 per week, per team, not player. For this they get their pitch, 1st class changing rooms, toilet facilitities and use of the kitchen and the club buys day to day equipment, posts, nets, corner flags etc. We then run a fund raising initiative where each team keeps every penny that they make, and we give every kid at the club an Easter Egg and all teams have subsidised use of a floodlit 3g pitch, which they get for free during the summer.

As a conservative example, and I do not know exact figures,
PSAS U'11s
16 player signed on pay 12.00 per month subs.
12x16x12 = 2,304.00

Minus,
120 Registration
330 training etc.

Expendable monies 1,854 plus other fund raising. Some teams do weekly raffles, football forecast sheets etc. on top of subs.

I'm going to say no one, and I mean no one has the benefits given by our club.

You should be in government mate.

The reason we can do this is the money we make from the 3g.

What's the point in having a shit stack of brass in the bank in our position.

*we do still have a shit stack without the kids money*

A certain RL club I WAS involved with used to fleece quite a large chunk off each individual junior team so that it could support its open age team. In return the teams got the priviledge of the name plus to use the sporting facilities.

Except you couldn't train then or there or play on that pitch or do this or do that or, well fuck it I aint there any more so it doesn't matter.

Every team does that mate, I'm surprised that folk stand for it. Senior football and rugby clubs start junior sections just for that reason, money, don't give me that shit about developing players for senior sport. One in my locale has recently done just that. The pricks do a film show for prospective parents/players with loads of promises they cannot keep and they buy it.

I'm on the soap box again, our teams 'apply' for their preferred pitch each year, they usually get what they ask for. They are then allocated a pitch for the season and aprox. KO time which they can with co-operation from other teams be flexible with. Training slots remain the same every season if the teams so desire, but they can ask to change to other available slots which then become theirs for as long as they want them. No team can stop or alter another teams pitch or training allocation without their full approval, and that includes the Seniors. The under 6's are as important to us as the open age men, no discrimination.

We're a Democracy we are.

I know of a certain RL club that someone WAS involved with that used a ladies football team to obtain substantial funding from a national organisation then froze them out. Allegedly finding their own use for the ladies funds, which were not inconsequential.

Also allegedly the ladies are now back because of pressure asserted allegedly, by the national organisation.

This RL club may not be far from you.

Cunts.

This is not an isolated incident.
