Wildlife - Richard Ford

The reason for writing my review at threeish on a Wednesday morning is down to our wonderful dog Cal waking me up to let him out for a leak. I'm now wide-a-bloody wake so I thought I might as well do summat. I love animals me.

This is one of RF's earlier published works and at one hundred and odd pages is a fine example of a novella. Set in Great Falls Montana in 1960 it's told through the eyes of a teenager Joe Brinson. It's a tale of the frustrations of his parents regarding their marriage and how when a couple of adults can act out of character it's the child in the family who without life-earned cynicism is the beacon of common sense. A good quirky short story about the ties that bind regarding family and that unsureness and restlessness of the mid-teen years.

£2.47 on Kindle.

Don't fall for it Codge, you'll end up having paid about £800 for some rubbish facts and a crappy ring binder. It's a lot cheaper to use google for any facts you may need, just ask Foz.

Sounds a good book Dockster, I'm in like Flynn on this one.

*who's Flynn anyway?*

I don't want my ring binded, bound or filled in installments.
