Wild Swan, Thornbridge Brewery

On the bottle it says Wild Swan, White Gold Pale Ale. Only 3.5% but its a beautiful beer. I might have posted about it on here before but only just noticed it on the shelves in Waitrose after an absence (must be seasonal). Great summer drink and I always cop for a couple whenever I'm in there. Normally retails about £2.20 a bottle. End of dispatch.

Thornbridge are ace. Don't know how long they have been going but I discovered them maybe four year ago during a meet the brewer night in the Grove and been enjoying their tremendous ales ever since. You don't get them everywhere, the Grove  of course, had a couple in the Scarbro' taps but the York Taps has a veritable plethora of them strewn around the bars that I will be sampling today before the races   .

I remember only one that I didn't take to and that was a cucumber flavoured affair . Revolting but I suppose you can't win them all and I've not seen it since. That's part of what they are about though, trying things. They do strong ales and week ales but always packed with flavour and depth. The Jaipur is probably the best known but a bit too strong for more than two or three (for me anyway). Never seen the Wild Swan that Dock is on about though.
