Tractor Boys H

Cast your minds back to the 29th August, a mere 3 weeks ago. Leeds RL were murdering Hull KR at Wembley and the opener to that match was a fine display by Leeds United at Derby.

And now to the match against Ipswich. My first of the season, a couple of last minute cheapo tickets so I took Heyho jnr (who I am trying to wean off being a Chelsea fan).

God almighty it was bad. McCarthy had done his homework brilliantly - 'run yerselves into the ground lads, don't give Leeds any space or time on the ball'.

The result - it was men against boys. The so called 'future of Leeds United youngsters' were totally bereft of ideas (as were the majority of the team to be honest) left to do risky back passes and horizontal passes. Ipswich were eager and up for it. A good managers response to a poor weekend result.

Ok a stonewall penalty  that ended up getting booked for diving (why would you dive when you are 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper) summed up that a bad performance wasn't helped by a bad referee. Leeds might also be in trouble as a coke bottle was chucked on the pitch and the referee handed it in.

Funniest moment was the middle aged skinhead (with expensive adidas trainers of course) who calmly walked onto the side of the pitch, turned round and raised his hands as if to say 'well come on then extract me from the ground, I've had enough'. He got his wish.

Doesn't sound great. Off to MK this afternoon.

Listened to this on the radio. Sounded as though they were all over us.
Ipswich are a half decent team but still one of those that i like to think that we could give a bit of a match to at home on a Tuesday night. Obviously not the case.

Nice report HH. thanks.

I went to this, 55% possession I read in the paper which sounds about right. Longish periods in the 1st half of us just passing the the ball without any real threat on goal which just frustrated the crowd, I like a bit of TikiTaki football but we need to be more attacking. Ipswich weren't anything special apart from the very fast miniature winger(name?). A draw would have been fairer
Adeyemi and Murphy were anonymous and Silvestri is just a liability, Byram should have been on sooner, the lad is class above the rest.
