Tinned Soup

Back on it, Baxters beef consomme, (posh Bovril) and Lobster Bisque.Remember overheating impairs the flavour.

It's a lot cheaper than Covent Garden, Yorkshire Provender, etc. carton soups!

Just make sure you adhere to the heating instructions.

Really, any tinned soup other than Heinz tomato is an abomination in the eyes of the Lord.

I am close to that , but extend it to Mushroom, Chicken, Chicken and Mushroom.  Maybe vegetable and scotch broth.

Oh aye, they is the fecking biz!

I love Baxter's soups, well the one's without the fecking gluten in anyway!

Overheating is akin to flying an aeroplane without wings, just plain wrong!

Is there anyone who likes Campbells, its horrible stuff.
grunt

Baxters have the best flavours but they always put too much salt and pepper in.

Those Covent Garden designer soups and the like are a bit of a con, so expensive for so cheap a food. I haven't eaten the tins for a while but Heinz oxtail was my favourite - do they still use the word 'impair' on the label?

I usually throw the tins away.

** Edited for horrible spelling. **

The ones in tubs are usually better than the ones in cartons. The spinach and creme fraiche with Nutmeg from Waitrose is rather good.

You're right but making it always reminds me of being ill or such like, and nearly always in the winter. The best I've made is a parsnip and cauliflower with curry spices, I really don't like those cold summer soups, I think they used to be called consommes in the '70s.

I think they were called cold soup then too.

A couple of good old-fashioned tinplate steel cans, washed down with a steaming mug of boiling WD40 - you just can't beat it.

Heinz  - " do not boil or overcook as this will impair the flavour".

Baxters - DO NOT BOIL
fartcatcher

I like Oxtail soup but have to block out mentally where it comes from.

Lentil soup - disgusting.
