The Seeds A's & B's 1965-1970

Big Beat are a good reissues label and I've had a few things by them including a good Sharon Tandy compilation. This is what it says on the tin, pretty much the definitive best of for The Seeds 7" output. The Seeds for me have that kind of sound that doesn't need too much deconstructing or analysis. Like Little Richard or Jerry Lee Lewis in the fact that you just have to listen and let the songs wash over you. Its just good sixties West coast rock n roll, bit psychedelic, bit garage, and loads of pop hooks. The Seeds were originals and still have a unique sounding style to me. The debut album from 1966 is a belter (also reissued on Big Beat) but this is a good (and relativley cheap IMHO) collection. Some great liner notes and pics as well.

I reckon the Stranglers might have listened to this.
