The Coral - Distance Inbetween

The latest from the most underrated British band of the last fifteen years. I tire of hearing them categorised as just 'indie'. They are far much more than that. I'm a massive fan of James Skelly's voice and as with their other stuff, this album is an interesting listen with plenty of hooks. Watched them recently on a session they did for BBC Scotland and they keep on maturing and honing their playing.

Still play their first album which they made when they were about 12.

Shame the guitarist left, but he's done some interesting stuff on his own.

Too right, absolutely fantastic band, right up there with the best British bands. I've never fully understood the term Indie other than anything that draws on seventies punk and post punk. The best add their own panache and this lot do it in spades. Nice one. Same for Bill Ryder-Jones, his album lasdt year was top drawer

I was tempted by the BRJ album but didn't get round to buying it. Think I will now. Ta for the heads up.
