The Chemic Tavern

A fine boozer and one I still frequent when visiting younger offspring.

Threatened with closure so get down there and do a bit of supping!

I'm in
Dock

A venue that always features in the annual Leeds 'Gathering' which celebrates Irish arts over the period of a month across the city. They have some good trad Irish sessions there through the rest of the year as well. Some really good fiddle players n' that. Reeling and Jigging a plenty! If you like the old diddly-de get yer sen down there. None of that Corrs knackers either. The real deal.

Only one of those pubs is still in business. Sad.

Not even sure if I've been in the Chemic.

I don't know how The White Stag manages to stay open.

Here hang on here's one for you. If you walked into the pub in the title of this thread and asked for a whoopee cushion, the man behind the bar might say "This is the Chemic, not a jokers shop". Did you see what I did there? I took the lyric of a song by Madne, OH FORGET IT!

But shirley they would actually say 'This is a pub not a joke shop'... Just saying like.

Don't stand in the way of, or attempt to thwart comedy genius. Go away!

Gone
Heyho

Was the white stag the one before the Eagle. If so I passed it today and it seems to be a firm in there now.

White Stag did most of it's business after hours. Mate of mine used to leave his van outside on a Friday so he could get off to work first thing Monday morning. Not big and not clever.
