Tapestry

BBC 4 9:00 pm tonight. Documentary about the making of probably one of the most listened to albums ever.

Like many lads of my age, I had a copy in my album collection. It was displayed prominently so that any young lady unwise enough to accompany me home would realise I had a sensitive side to my nature.

Well that was the theory anyway.

Still think the couplet:

'When my soul was in the lost and found
You came along, to claim it'

Is better than the entire lyrical output of Led Zeppelin.
Grind

If only she hadn't followed it with, "You pinned me up against the wall, and smashed my pert back doors in."
Dock

Since when was Tapestry a girls album? First time I've ever heard that. Carole King is a seriously good songwriter. And a non-too shabby singer IMHO. Great album.

Correction:

Jerry Goffin wrote the words not Carole King.

Still better than the entire lyrical output of Led Zeppelin - who - going off at a tangent for a moment - penned the lyrics 'Squeeze my lemon 'til the juice runs down my legs'.

That alone should have been enough to get them banned from recording again.

Tapestry is one of my favourite albums ever.

I stand corrected FC. Anyway just checking in as I'm in Menorca as I type.

*does piss-poor flamenco to 'I Feel The Earth Move'*

Sounds very nice!

I'm sure you, Mrs Dock and Dock Jr will be able to find a bar that's showing the world cup.

Watching it in the hotel room. That certain style Brazil used to be famous for is a bit lacking. They look 'just ok' to me.
Grind

They were scabby and that "penalty" was utter bollocks.

Are you talking about the football team or your good lady's body hair?

Bloody blue bloods. Everything's filth with you lot.

*doffs cap*

Style was a bad choice of words on my part. I mean that flare that used to be a real spectacle for the viewer.
