Stockholm

I'm off to Stockholm for a weeks training course in a fortnight, anybody know the place and got any ideas how to keep my self entertained of an evening bearing in mind it's dear as fuck for ale and that over there?

Hopefully my hosts will do the business and fill my belly for me but could do with a contingency plan.

If you like very heavy metal in clubs surrounded by Harleys rammed with Greased up bearded Hells angels with spanners and dead chickens sticking out of their beards supping blue cocktails you are in for a treat.

Yes I've been told some bars with cheap beers may prove to be your last beers cheap or otherwise...

I quite like Stockholm, although it definitely wasn't cheap when I last went.

I was there on business and stayed at the Hilton and tended to wander down the (very obvious) main drag towards the palace/castle thingummy.

Unfortunately, I can't remember anywhere in particular, but there was a converted cellar place relatively near the hotel where the bloke on the bar lured me in for a free drink because he spotted my Leeds scarf.

I could even walk the next day (even though they had lots of Belgian offerings), so I guess it was safe.

Fanfuckingtastic city.

Funky people, smart dressing cool as fuck vibes for the whole week.

A guy on my training course took me out on his speed boat on an 4 hour tour of the city with essential pit stops for smoked herring/shrimps last night.  Gil Scot Heron was playing a cellar club but opted for the aquatic venture.

6 quid a glass of wine but they do a reasonably priced buffet at lunch times that fills you up after gorging on fruit and herring at breakfast.

Loved the place.

Metropolitania surrounded by natural waterways with a homely, village feel in places.

Ace.

Sounds fantastic. Tell me about the architecture.
