Seeds

What is it with this obsession with putting seeds in things. Everything you buy* seems to have sunflower seeds, pine kernels, sesame seeds or pumpkin seeds in them.

Mrs FC cooked an apple crumble on Sunday and put pumpkin seeds in it. So me and younger offspring proceeded to dissect the dessert and made a neat pile of seeds on the side of the plate before eating the crumble.

There followed a long debate on their nutritional value. In the end i ate one to keep her happy and it tasted of nothing. The rest went on the bird table.

If they are so good for you why don't we leave them in the pumpkins and why don't we put apple pips in things.

*possible exaggeration.
Grind

I've always been a huge fan of putting seed in pretty much anything, both animate and inanimate.

Grind got the reply in first, but I too was going to remark that I'm not averse to putting seed in.

Back on topic, isn't the reason for all these seed-based foodstuffs something to do with some kind of fad Ive heard of for eating healthily? Hard to believe, I know.

Unless there's a lard seed, count me out.

I recently made a breakfast bar, supposed to be healthy and good for energy levels. Daughter one and i rather liked it.

As a special treat, Cook sometimes puts on a breakfast bar for Eddie...

If you eat too many you might turn into one.
