Scottish Football

Clearly all is not well.

Only once in this millenium has a team outside of Rangers and Celtic featured in the top two. It was Hearts btw.

When the only matches of significance in the league are the Glasgow derbies, it's no wonder (aside of the religious stuff) that's there's so much tension.
The recent abject performances of the big two, and the mediocrity of the national side indicate that the quality of football in the SPL is not what it should be.

I would admit Rangers and Celtic into the Prem. I'm sure most of the existing Prem teams would be happy (more gate money) and those teams remaining in the SPL would have a much more fun time and maybe get to win something.

I realise that it would cause a few 'identity' problems with FIFA, but these things can usually be fixed with a few cash-bearing brown paper envelopes and a funny handshake.

no thanks to the prem.

Aye i know what you mean, start off in the championship, maybe league 1. No sense in overstretching

And there I was biting my tongue for nothing.

Watched them play Spain last night and they weren’t bad at all. I’d say for large parts of the game they were still in the match, maybe could have grabbed another goal with a little more composure. Like Wales they are getting better and good for that I say. It seems a little patronizing  to talk about spirit but I wish our lot showed a fraction of the pride and energy they  put in. A mate of mine has just come back from Benidorm, he was not as enamored with the Scots fans as the media are and we will leave it at that.

There were quite a few on the train back to Manchester on Sunday, they were off to Manc International.  Considering the amount of young ladies on the train within easy earshot they were to say the least very offensive.

Had to laugh when the subs Goodwillie, Forest and another were announced. Forest and Goodwillie. Not often you hear those words in the same sentence is it?  or is it

Seems nothing has been learnt over the last 10 years. Events at Rangers seem to exactly mirror those at ER under Mr Ridsdale.

Owners are still allowed to fund the purchase of players and their wages based on anticipated ticket sales.

Rangers early departure from European football sealed their fate.

As usual, fans, players, non-football creditors and HMRC suffer, while the cowboys who run the club get away unpunished and free to move on to a new club and screw that up.

Scottish Premier League is a joke at the moment, it will be worse without Rangers. If, as is being proposed, they start again in the 3rd division against the mighty Berwick Rangers and East Stirling, it might kill it off altogether.

It'd be good news for 3rd div clubs. Big gate receipt pay days for them. Maybe there will be a trickle-up effect.

Yes, but it'll probably be pish from drinking too many cans of Tennents Extra.

What odds would have got against this at the start of the season.

My man on the Scottish terraces tells me the 'Accies' are playing like Barcelona at the moment, and having seen off both Celtic and Aberdeen recently are going to take some stopping. Worth a couple of quid?

1 Hamilton   10 +14 23
2 Dundee Utd 10 +7 22
3 Inverness CT 10 +6 20
4 Kilmarnock 10 +6 20
