Ron Moody - Dead

So Codge says. Don't know how he got the scoop, I'd wager he killed him. Not one to start rumours like, but no smoke without fire.

Back on topic: Loved him in Oliver. I could watch that over and over and never get bored of it. R.I.P. RM

It was Bill Sykes, get fucked.

I KNOW I've seen Ron Moody in other stuff but it's his Fagin in the Oliver flick that has to be his best work.  Did more on stage than in films I think.

Had a Moody-inspired memory. Me and Geordie Dom on many occasions staggering up Newsome Road in Huddersfield doing pissed renditions of Fagin's 'Reviewing the Situation'. Two steps forward, ten back.

I only found out the other week that the lass that placed Nancy was an American. Fancy that. As casting goes that film stands out above all others if you ask me...........I know you won't.

In fact, Mrs D has the Oliver DVD. Might watch it tonight in tribute.

Have I ever mentioned I auditioned for the role of Fagin in the school play?

Mr. Dale got the part, and he was very good too.

Top film Oliver.

Kenneth Beckett, Actor. Its got a ring to it. Trained at Pontefract RADA with a spell at the RSC.

"Juliet, may I tempt your affection with some chips?"

"Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio: a fellow
of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy: he hath
borne me on his back a thousand times; and now, how
abhorred in my imagination it is! He hath missed the last bus so the silly fucker can walk home, Hic!"
Heyho

Ron Moody was second choice for the part of Fagin.

It was going to be Max Bygraves
Grind

Consider yourself: understudy.
