Rice pud

My current favourite desert.
Dock

It has an occasional renaissance in our house as well. Every now and then I get a tin when traversing the aisles of Beverley Morribogs. It seems to taste better than it ever has. Not sure if that's my taste buds on a nostalgia fest or an increase in sugar content to keep the youngsters hooked. The latter seems to be the norm these days.

Not had it since we used to put jam in it and stir it in at school. Seeing it again would remind me of athletes foot, nits and dinner ladies who would let their hands rest on your shoulder a tad too long for comfort

All good then?

School rice pudding was superb. Especially the burnt skin part. Not sure if that's the athletes foot bit that LD,is referring to.

Never liked rice pudding (apart from a brief 3 week period when I was in my late teens when I loved the Ambrosia version and then went straight off it again). Remeber stirring jam or rosehip(?) syrup into the school puddings in the 70s for the fun to watch it turn a different colour, then gave mine to whoever wanted it.

However, I love ground rice pudding with a dollop of home made jam. Taste sensations are weird aren't they?!

The lady wife loves her rice pudding and insists on sitting beside me to eat it.
