Red's, By 't Corn Exchange

We've been meaning to try this place for age's. Lots of trips to America has given us all a love for bbq meat and lots of it. Yeah i know it ain't the healthiest option going but once in a while is alright isn't it?

Had a couple of pints in the Leeds brewery place, Crowd of Favours beforehand. I like it in there, good beer selection, decent staff and very comfortable but i feel a bit disloyal to the Duck n Drake just round the corner. Any way onto the restaurant.

Four of us booked a half seven spot in time we thought for the gig at the Brude later on. All we had was a main course each but it took a hour to come out. Didn't stop them coming round constantly asking us if we wanted drink's. I didn't but two of us did. Finally we got the food and thankfully it was worth the wait. Between us i think we must have cleared half of old Macdonald's farm. Baby back ribs, huge St Louis ribs, spicy sausage and chuck. Tender melting fall off the bone sweet and tangy tasting debauchery. Ridiculously good. Sides were ace too. I had some spicy beans with pulled pork bits. Them and some flat bread would be a splendid combo in their own right but the ribs turned it into a spectacular  feast. Came to about 110 in total for four of us but that included 8 beers. Ok I thought considering the quality and location.

Even the staff were impressed with our finishing power. No tip though the long wait would have annoyed us on a different day. As it was we got a cab up to the Brude just in time for the gig. Glad we didn't have starters or pud.

Only been there once when I had some friends over from Thailand and we went there before the pilgrimage to elland road

It was blindingly good even with a saturday lunchtime hangover

There is a new baby-version of the joint in Headingley now where Macys/Starbucks was

Had another rack of pork rib heaven here before the gig on Sunday. I cant overstate just how fabulous this place is.

Went in a while back, got a table straight away even though it was Saturday. Had probably the best burger I've ever eaten along with some fantastic sweet potato chips. All top notch.

Are you ever in your own house?

Turned up around 6.00 last Saturday, no queue, three empty tables, told there would be an 80 minute wait.

Went elsewhere.

Yes you can. You've just done it.

Did I mention my oldest friend is married to the lass who owns the firm that provides the meat for this establishment? Syke House Farm - No1 When It Mattered

Hmm, had our fist disappointment here last Saturday before the gig. Dryish ribs that had to be coaxed off the bone coated with a very bland marinade that all combined to create a tasteless rack of meat. Told them but we weren't interested in any recompense. Just hope they react to the genuine criticism. Going to try somewhere else today before the Titus Andronicus Gig

Went again last week, bonfire night and it was almost full. Got a table straightaway, half back of ribs where the meat just falls away from the bone, giant onion rings, buttermilk coleslaw and fries. Superb.

Yeah, not given up on it, just thought 'cos we'd had a less than usual quality meal we'd try elsewhere
