Please stop buying newspapers!

Even after the Leveson Enquiry, standards seem to have deteriorated further. Today, on Fathers Day, I was at a supermarket and noticed this vile shit staring at me from a news stand. What kind of editors pass this kind of garbage as newsworthy? It's fucking awful. I read the article that the front page leads with and it's all estimated figures, supposition, and in the final analysis, complete and utter untruthful scaremongering. This kind of thing should get a newspaper shutdown. Don't buy newspapers!

Heyho

I'm with you Dock. Are we bothered about what Duncan Bannatyne is on about.

Actually when I first read it I thought that story was about an ex Miss GB who was a transvestite and was called Dragon. And I though - wow is she a TV

Seriously though Dock I'm with you on this gutter journalism and slack statistics

I bought two Sundays and one on Saturdays for a while, but stopped now.  bought them mainly for the sudokus and Scrabble, and TV supplement seriously - I hardly even read the sport anymore.

I'm not so bothered about newspapers as dangerous opinion formers as the trash on the internet is the gutter-press x10

Just imagine the trees and trash and energy that could be conserved if we just stopped buying half of them. Not to mention shuttling them round the country in delivery vans.

Ever see the amount of unbought papers that a supermarket or newsagent send back every evening?

My dad's a right one for buying dozens of newspapers a week. why? I ask him. Half of it's not read at all - it just turns him into a worrier and a bore and then they get chucked out after cluttering my parents home up for a few weeks at a time

They have too much power. Politicians of all persuasions scared shitless of offending them in case they try and dig the dirt on them/their party.

Mail is the worst of the lot imo.
