Tomorrow, the Grand-Duke of Gomersal and I are undertaking a House of Lords' parliamentary review of the provision of alcoholic refreshments between Marsden and Leeds, in particular with respect to the proximity of public transport railway facilities.

It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it.

Blame the ruddy whining public. My reimbursable expenses are now a mere pittance. Barely enough to cover a bottle of Bolly and caviar canapes in each of the 8 hostelries.

Consider it a mere exploratory exercise for a future event.

(You've already done three - the Riverhead in Marsden [they've gritted the steps to the platform in anticipation of your imminent return] and the Head of Steam and Kings Head on Huddersfield station).

Also visited the Commercial in Slaithwaite, Navigation in Mirfield, West Riding Refreshment Rooms on Dewsbury station (gets a 4.5* rating from me), Cellar Bar in Batley and the Hedley Verity in Leeds (for a nightcap).

He's thorough and no mistake.

Don't think I shall be going again for a while.

That first half was actually worse than much of the season at home games.  a very disappointing result.  Not surprising, just disappointing, Leeds were partic'ly bad before half time, at least they showed some gusto in the second and perhaps could have won it, but that might well have been unjust on a P'boro' side who gave us all sorts of problems up front, esp their centre forward.

Thought we did ok. Decent game for a neutral.

The first 30 minutes were appalling, see how far the Peterborough forward ran for the goal with no real challenge allowing a shot on goal, absolute fucking rubbish from Peltier. Long ball hell from Leeds with no support for Morrison. Slight improvement to HT.

Second half started well but fizzled out, Diouf making the difference applying the only craft on display from Leeds all night. Peterborough looked dangerous every time they attacked, we didn't.

Up and fucking down whenever Leeds crossed half way, must have asked the lads in front of us ten times to sit down, couple of kids on my row would not have seen a thing.

Have all the real 'enthusiasts' debunked from the Kop to the South Stand? Very quiet from the Kop, South Stand much more vociferous, I'm guessing it's so they can get closer to the away fans.
