Parking in Leeds

I would appreciate any help from the locals on here if possible please.

I am taking the two offspring to the O2 academy in Leeds on Saturday to see Asking Alexandria (who I understand are a melodious beat combo).

The lady wife and I will have about 4-5 hours to kill and I thought I would take her for a meal.

Could anybody recommend a decentish restaurant in the locality, something not too basic, but also not outlandish?

Also, I would appreciate any suggestions as to the best/most convenient place to park.

Thanks for any ideas that you may have.

I'll have a think Mr D. Plenty of decent places to eat and parking-wise avoid The Light Shopping Centre and the St. John's Centre. Very pricey. Do you know Leeds well?

There's no cheap parking in Leeds mate. I was going to suggest The Light for parking as it very close to the O2 or there's a multi story over the road from Leeds Met Uni which will probably be cheaper. Merrion Centre also has a multi story too. All the above are a 5 minute walk to O2.
Heyho

Any preferences for type of food?

Thanks for your replies gentlemen.

I don't really know Leeds well -any visits I have made have tended to be one day trips for a specific purpose.

Any food type suggestions would be considered - although she who must be obeyed does not like really spicy food.

We will probably look to park up around 5pm and leave about 10 - 10.30 ish.

Re car parking charges - If it is going to cost me a little more in fees, but then I know the car will be safe, that is fine with me.

Your spoilt for choice, near the O2 there are restaurants to suit most tastes around Millenium Sq, The Light and on Great George St.

Thanks to you all for your advice.

Ended up parking in the Merrion Centre car park after working through the Saturday evening traffic jam in the area - the kids left the car in the middle of the street to walk to the O2 Academy as it would be quicker.  Got into the car park after a false start when I realised I was trying to get In the Out barriers, and realised the In was on the "wrong" side as we went past it (what's that all about?), so had to go round the block again.

As you mentioned, there was plenty of choice in the area - and the lady wife fancied going to Zizzi's.
