Mexico

Asking on behalf of a mate who's looking at going there on his hols.

The vast majority of the holidays he can find are all-inclusive types, which he isn't exactly averse to but he'd rather be able to stay somewhere where he can see a bit more of how the place ticks.

Obviously he wants to be near the beaches and the night life.

So any suggestions from our South American Correspondents?

Last time I went there I was dosed up on Percoset having dislocated my elbow (don't try it kids, it hurts!) playing indoor footie a few days before.

Spent some time at Playa del Carmen (all inclusive, but okay) but I have to say it was much more fun in and around Mexico City and Oaxaca, especially as the Grindstress had to carry our stuff and I looked far rougher than any of the local crack dealers.

I think that your mate could get a whole beach to himself at the moment B.

Must be plenty of cheap deals at the moment. Surely worth the risk if it's just a sore throat and a tickly cough? Pack the Beechams and throw caution to the wind.. where it will blow in to someone elses mouth.
