Manchester

How come Manchester always get bad referees.? It's can't be right.
Sir Bulldog Craggwood

It's terrible

I think they should get their own refs in each half of the pitch if the authorities arent going to give them good refs
Carp

Yes....But what about running 15 yards out of your way to elbow somebody in the head? How can that be wrong in the eyes of anyone but the hating media?

Absolutely, any refereeing mistakes should be punishable by death so it doesn't happen again.

I saw something on the news this morning that Ferguson is refusing to do ANY post match interviews. He needs reigning in, its getting laughable with regard to what he thinks he can get away with. I know he has always done it his way, but the authorites really need to stamp this out.

As for the match yestrerday, Man U weren't in the game for one second. And fuck knows why he was palying Berbatov on the wing?????? There are some major problems with that side. Not once did they look like a top of the table side. All credit to Liverpool, nice to see them hammer their biggest rivals after the season of woe they have so far endured. Kuyt, you da man. And that Suarez is shit hot.
Carp

Quite agree Dock. Every time Fergie does not get his own way he sulks and stops talking to the press. Does he ever stop to think that the media, love them or hate them, 'feed' the sport, and more so at that level than any other?

I doubt he does because  I think he believes that he and Man Utd are bigger than the game.
Seal

He's contractually obliged to talk to the BBC after games, but does he? Does he fuck. I'm sure the PL will soon put a stop to that behaviour though, he's only been doing it for six or seven years now

I think we do have to take in to consideration that whether you like it or not, he is quite a clever man, certainly the best manager Britain has ever produced and so to have to face some idiot with a microphone that wants ta ask mind numbingly stupid questions must seem trivial, pointless and really annoying. I'd refuse to talk to many of those cunts.

Sorry but idiots asking stupid questions is and always has been  a central part of our footballing viewing experience.

"So Alex, you lost the match 4-0, you have wrecked your title hopes, you're out of the champions league, four of your players were actually shot on the pitch and we just heard that everything you own was burned to ashes and those ashes were blasted into space. You couldn't have wanted the day to end up like this could you?"
Carp

The idiots asking questions work for organisations that fund the game. By all means, take away the idiots, and with them take the sponsorship, global exposure and branding.

I am sure Fergie could drum up just as much cash on his own using Facebook and Twitter instead of the BBC and Sky.

I know what people are saying but it could just end up a ridiculous situation if he is forced to partake. He could just give one word answers, then what are we going to do, force him to give 'proper' answers?
Carp

True PL2, it could get ridiculous, but as Seal said, he has obligations and he should fulfill them in return for the benefits his club receives.

Aye but appealing to his good nature or asking him to give something back in that fashion is going to fall on deaf ears.

At least this way we don't get to hear the mardy fecker moaning about stuff.

A Football Association tribunal has given Sir Alex Ferguson a five-match touchline ban for his comments about referee Martin Atkinson.

The Manchester United manager was found guilty of improper conduct for criticising Atkinson's display in the loss at Chelsea earlier this month.

"You want a fair referee, or a strong referee anyway - and we didn't get that," Ferguson told MUTV.

The ban starts on 22 March and includes the FA Cup tie against Manchester City.

Regarding his refusal to do interviews, I suggest they run old footage of him on telly with an actor doing a voice-over like they used to do for Gerry Adams when Sinn Fein was outlawed.

I suggest Joe Pasquale.

That would be excellent.

Barbara Windsor and Jimmy Krankie should also be considered.
