Maggie

17 year old Westie. Blind, deaf senile etc. Had to make arrangements today. No quality of life and she is becoming distressed. Got to take her at 09:00 in the morning.

Sobbing as I type. Soft git me.

Nooooo!

My thoughts are with you and Maggie.

I know it won't feel this way, but you're doing the right thing by her.

And I'm sure you always have and she's appreciated you for it.

If you're not a soft git, there's something wrong with you.

It's done. Sleep well. RIP Maggie

Very sorry about that, Carp, a terrible saga to go through for any of us and nothing to feel 'soft' about, pets are pets are loved ones are ace, fact.

Thanks. We knew it was right. Got to tell the kids tonight. It won't be a surprise as we have been talking to them about "when" but they will still be choked.

i had to take a pet cat to the vet once and the vet said it would be more humane to have him put down, he had something wrong internally.  I beefed there and then, I don't mind admitting it.  And last November we lost 'Tiger' who was a runt of a family who my g/f's family had taken in from the wilds of Woodlesford.  Lovely natured cat, he was my mate but he went off to die, poor little sod.  I felt a lot worse than I thought I ever would.

Sad.

Poor old Mags, dogs give you so much.

Aww, sad, i dont think it's human not to get emotionally involved with any animal let alone a pet.

Thanks all. Going to be a while until we stop missing her. D2 was distraught. We knew she would be so waited until she was at home with bf to tell her. Life's cycle.

Our dog nearly went just over a year ago. Arthritis in her pelvis got really bad. We took her to the vet expecting the worst, but he gave some miracle drug that fixed it within days. I could do with some.
