Late Doors

Line of duty

Been watching a lot of telly recently

Another belter from the BBC. Gripping, shocking , complex and terrific acting.

Three police officers die in a witness protection ambush and someone has to take the can, quickly. The anti corruption squad wade through the regular police ranks like an enemy within but who is the real enemy? They think they have found her but very quickly it is apparent that within this labyrinth of loyalty, conflict, corruption, compromised morality and secret agendas enemies are not so apparent. Brilliant.
Heyho

Totally agree with you Late Doors. A gem.

Blimey, what an incredible piece of British drama.

However, rest assure everyone that if brilliant and fearless contemporary and pertinent drama like this appears on the BBC again it will be on Monday morning or something as the astonishingly cultureless culture secretary Mr Whittingdale does not want it clashing with Sweeney repeats or other such gems on the commercial channels. Seems his masochistic tendencies extend beyond the boudoir.

All it's missing is some Johnny Cash.

Last one of series 4 coming up. Brilliant as usual. Hope this runs and runs, its nigh on perfect tv

We thought episode one was ridiculous in parts but stuck with it, glad we did. Still no clue but I reckon Roz will come out a goodie in t'end.

SPOILERS.

For a show about police procedure and what not they don't follow procedure very much. Thandie Newtown has been excellent but the story seems to be getting very silly with her returning to work after an amputation and then arresting her own husband also the cockney/Scottish copper goes back to work after a couple of days after almost breaking his back.

Absolutely, the beating and fall from the stairs would have killed a lesser man.

Weren't they looking for a serial killer at the start of this. What happened to that story?

Okay, there is suspending belief and there is suspending belief.

Stupid and daft.
Late Doors

Chuffing hell lads that's a bit harsh. Cop shows not following regular protocol and procedures? really? Holes in the plot?  Do you really think Columbo's car is roadworthy? can he really take his dog to work with him? Injured coppers have been coming back to work too early since Softly Softly and Z Cars. Jack Frost was shot in the head for christs sake.

As far as the original serial killer crime goes that's where LOD begins. It's about Police Corruption and the fitting up of some simpleton easy victim for that crime. The original Crime was seemingly solved by that. It seems BBC dramas come under special scrutiny for this sort of thing like The Wire and those Scandi dramas are not. Brilliant as they are I'm sure the same holes could be found if one had a mind to. Anyway i thought LOD was fantastic *sticks twos up to the pair o'yers*

I enjoyed it. Yeah a bit far fetched in places, but we'll written and acted. I bet nobody questioned Ironside turning up on the crime scene in the back of a van in a wheelchair.

Don't get me wrong I did enjoy it, lots of twists, turns and suspense but too many ridiculous moments.

Tim about to cut up Roz at the end of episode one, chain saw inches from her face, roll credits.

Episode two begins with Roz a picture of health and where is Tim.

Then the whole hand thing!

Minor scratch to amputation in double quick time.

It would be a top drama if they put just a little more thought into the script and dropped the downright daft bits.
