Great day out. Nearly two hours to get there cos of traffic. Got in some Railwaymans club. Cheap beer and good atmosphere. Bloke with the worst farts going - owned up to them and proceeded to use them as a chat up line.  Goes over to Mrs H and says 'bet you'd like to smell those with me under the covers wouldn't you'.

Very slight downer was teh heavy handedness of the Scum police with alcohol. For years you have been able to sup it right up to the ground then deposit it just before you get there. this time it was zero tollerance all over and there was a big police presence. Grow up Scum police and start trusting people.

In the ground we ended up about four rows in front of the Leeds band. Great atmosphere. I almost nearly clapped and sang myself.

One interesting point though - video ref. doesn't work when you can't see the big screen. Makes it difficult to know what's going on.

As for the match it was interesting watching it high up. Saints game plan was poor, kicking game was overall shite. First 30 minutes and leeds dominated but i was worried they had only put 8 points on the board. I knew Saints would come strong and they did for the last 10 minutes of the first half and the first 25 of the second. Then Leeds took over. Saints will look to the injury of Wellens and that other bloke I suppose. Just thought that some of their big players didn't stand up and be counted. Robi and Meli for two. Felt sorry for Graham, I've always liked him as a player and maybe a big mistake subbing him.

Aside from being a victory for Leeds, is a victory for loyalty as well. Kevin Sinfield has been with the club for 14 years and and Rob Burrow for 10.

RL has remained true to it's roots and has far fewer primadonnas than Football or Rugby Union.

These guys are real role models, rather than selfish tw*ts like Rooney and Tevez, or the overgrown public schoolboys of our Rugby Union team whose 'high jinks' wouldn't be funny even if they were successful.

agree 100% with that

the tries were all great to watch - little Rob Burrow was a revelation

Burrow is only about 5ft 5in and just over 10 stone.

Almost small enough to be hurled around a night club by a drunken member of the England Rugby Union squad 'unwinding'.

I don't think he's quite that short, but there's a guy called Wes Welker who plays for the NE Patriots in gridiron who seems to defy rational explanation.

Great result and a fantastic game. Well done Leeds RL.

I watched it in a bar in Fuertaventura, with some Saints fans, Leeds fans and neutrals who seemed to want St helens to win.  Great atmosphere though and I did say just before kick off that the experts shouldn't ever rule Leeds out in the Grand Final. That's the third final I've seen them in while I've been on hol, and Super Leeds have won every one of them

The Saints fans took defeat very well in the bar too, credit to them.  A Leigh lad took it less well, maybe he hates Leeds that much but he seemed a good chap before.  Burrow's try was fantastic, he set another up brilliantly and Sinfield's a true leader amongst sportsmen I'd say.

I reckon Sinfield actually is the manager. mcDermott is there simply in name.
