Ken Bates says he was abruptly sacked from his tenure as the Leeds United president by the new owners, GFH, after he entered the club into a contract with the private aeroplane company 247 Jet that could be used to fly him to Leeds from his Monaco home.

The cost of this contract to which Bates committed the Championship club, which is under financial strain, is thought to be £500,000 over three years.

Previously Bates has been flown by private jet. The costs of use of a private jet to the club is understood from sources who have seen the Leeds accounts to be around £120,000 a year. He told the Observer that his expenses had not changed for the eight years he was Leeds chairman, and that GFH were well aware of them when they bought the club in December. He declined to cover the details of precisely what they covered.

A key sticking point with GFH is that Bates did not gain the approval of the board for the new, three-year private jet contract. Bates argues he was not able to do so, and he was advised in June that as a director of the club, he was able to bind the club into the contract.

"I saved the club money, because this was a sterling contract, rather than euros," Bates said. "I did it in the best interests of the club."

Currently on holiday in Italy with his wife Suzannah, Bates said he received a hand-delivered letter last Wednesday from GFH, raising concerns. He expected to deal with it on his return from holiday, but instead: "Two days later, they told me I was sacked."

Describing his treatment as "despicable," Bates said he is considering suing. GFH said there were confidentiality agreements in place, and declined to comment.
Frazier Cranium

I think he really does believe what he says.
smiling badger

Greedy,deluded,self righteous senile,bearded, old, cunt.
May you fuck off and never grace Ellan Road ever again.
Heyho

It ain't over yet.

This deluded sad old wanker will battle on through the courts for years to come.

And why - because that is what he likes doing and always has
Frazier Cranium

He doesn't like spending his own money though, all his previous court battles have been funded by us/the club, so I think he's fucked and he knows it, he's just bleating because he's lost.  That's my opinion on it anyway.  I'm not saying the new lot are great but I have a good feeling that they've beat the shitbag at his own game and now he's whining because he doesn't like how they've done it.
Heyho

Well I for one am going to petition for a statue to the great man. The Master Bates statue for a right fucking wanker.

I would base my design on this one seeing as he pissed all over Leeds.

Nyles O Cranium

Talking of pissed off, I'm up at Jimmy's in an hour or so, if the bus doesn't knock.  Three bus journeys to get there and back and my dad will probably be asleep when I get there!

Three!

I can get from Cas in two.

Hope yer dad's OK.
Frazier Cranium

Ta, he's worrying us but he did brighten up when he saw me (must have thought I was someone else ) and he practically wolfed down a small tub of icecream which I helped him eat.  The physio told me that my dad probably won't be able to walk unaided again, he's had a lot of injuries over the years and now he's lost too much strength in his legs.  Please don't be fretting, he's not suddenly very ill, he's been ill for most of my life, it's just gradually worsened this last year bless him.

It turned out to be two bus journeys only, which was less of a chore then I feared.  Bus from Beeston to the bottom of York Road, then a mile or so walk to the hospital, and then the walk back to the bus stop after the visit.

What wards he on - he's always been partial to one of my boiled sweets. In fact he owes me bloody loads, the tight arsed git. just like his son when in a pub LOL
Nyles O Cranium

I've been warned off of accepting confectionery from strane bastards like you all my life

He's being moved to a care home this very morning, I just found out, so that's better.  He's not out of the proverbial woods yet but it's all better news ta.

He can only claim a maximum of £70k for a wrongful dismissal and only if he'd taken a wage at the club. Sadly as he kept banging on about the fact he never took a wage he's going to be pissing in a puddle.

They have insulted his good character.

He is a fuzzy faced git. There. So did I.

I see his mate Shaun has landed a top job at the FA.

Shaun Harvey. The man who bankrupted Scarborough, took Bradford into administration twice and Leeds once.

I can only assume they are using the same logic as IT Security companies who employ hackers because they how to expolit the loopholes.

On the other hand they could be a bunch of twats.
