John Bradbury

Drummer of The Specials - aged 62. Saw them at their peak in 1981. In the days before a line was drawn between politics and pop music.
Probably just about the best thing ever to come out of Coventry.
Too much Too Young, Concrete Jungle and Ghost Town are a decent legacy.
Heyho

I certainly think the likes of the Specials and Madness introduced a lot of people to the Ska sound.

I really like a lot of the ska sound (more than the northern soul to be honest)

But it has to be rememebered Songs like Too Hot, Pressure Drop, Monkey Man, Enjoy Yourself are brilliant covers by the Specials (as are a fair share of Madness early stuff). I llove listening to the originals by the likes of Prince Buster and Toots and the Maytals. Saw The Specials this year and they were very good. Also saw Neville Staple a few weeks ago and he was brilliant.
