I've just come down from the Isle of Skye...

Got back on Monday 27th August after an epic 14 hours and 512 mile journey from the enchantingly beautiful island of Skye. We had intended to use the Isle as a hopping point to the Outer Hebrides but it stole our hearts and wouldn't allow us our onward journey.

We camped at three equally beautiful but completely unique campsites as listed below.

Sligachan

Glenbrittle

Camus Mor

That last site had one male toilet and one female toilet, cold water only and an outside sink for washing up but the views were absolutely spectacular as were the others but this one had the added bonus of costing 13 less per night.

I've some photographs to post which will be on Photobucket and I'll add my favourites on here, but here's one to wet the whistle a little...

Forest

Like a Turner landscape, great photo.
grunt

An enticing vista, and no mistake.

Is that the male toilet in the foreground?

Nice place to take a dump and all the Johnny Walker blue you can drink.

Looking West to the Outer Hebrides

Loch Garry just North of Fort William as seen from the A87 en route to Skye, the river flows on to Loch Ness.

Not sure if you can see from this photograph but the image of the loch is similar to the shape of Scotland.

Water coincidence?

Never got round to going, we'd planned it for a wet, washout day but it never materialised so have it on the to do list on our next visit.  Really enjoyed Portree, a lovely little port.
