hummus

Animal, vegetable or mineral?

Tile grout?

Just looking at it makes me want to wretch. Or do I mean retch.
Plastic Man

Cook bought some from Sainsbury's at the weekend - "Sabra" brand - garlic and red pepper.

Absolutely spot on with some crackers or warm, toasted pitta bread .

I agree that some others are less than inspiring.

Caramelised onion hummus is top notch

Do you recommend a particular brand at the moment?

For example, my experience is that the quality of supermarket-own brands does vary quite significantly. Furthermore, these can vary quite quickly as they change suppliers.

Several years ago, a bon viveur and gourmant chap at Rotary used to swear by Tesco's own-brand, though from experience in the interim, I didn't share his enthusiasm.

Tescos own brand Caramalised onion is the hummus of choice in our house, but their Lemon & Coriander is rank.

Hummos could well be the catalyst for world war three. Israel and Lebanon are engaged in a long running feud to see who can produce the biggest one. Better than getting their nobs out to see who has the biggest i suppose.

Home made hummos is best and quite easy

We just get supermarket brand. All the Waitrose ones are good. They go nice with Food Doctor pittas. Nom nom.

If you leave anything in the fridge long enough, it eventually turns into hummus.

So thats what Jeffrey Dahmer was trying to do. I always said that lad was misunderstood.

Dahmers victims? See, they deserved it.

I like home made with paprika, good olive oil and flat bread.

Flat bread?

How common.

We are simple people down here. We never get INVITED OUT TO FESTS for example.

But these things dont WORRY us.

If we ever have a Regfest in Birdingbury do not tell anyone you eat hummus. I have painted a vivid picture of life in Yorkshire that would be instantly destroyed by such a revelation.
