Still think that it is as good a homage to adolescent lust as Teenage Kicks, but sadly never got played in the right places.
It was recorded by a Leeds band called The Neat in about 1979. Written by Dave Parkinson (RIP) and Russ Elias, both doyens of the Leeds music scene, it's typical of the jangly guitar pop which was at the time the 'Leeds sound' and has aged quite well imo.
The Neat used to perform regularly at the Haddon Hall (RIP).
Other similar and contemporary bands were The Sneakers, The Alwoodley Jets and Dodgy Tactics. All feckin' brilliant. Worth checking out on Youtube.
Happy Days. Nostalgia binge over. I think I may have posted this before. Oh well.
