Help please

I cant quote web links, insert smilies etc.

In my profile I have BBCode, HTML allowed and Smilies enabled. Any ideas please?

I cant either so i drag the smiley and trim the text. I can't use the text options either, the bold, font size etc or the quote function. No help  i know but a problem shared eh?

I think they may be disabled. I just posted a link in the Kiddie Fiddling thread and was going to type in the HTML cos the URL button wouldn't work, but the link worked without if that makes sense. I guess I can make do with key typed in smilies bit limited though

I don't know how to explain this in technical terms, but there's a few control codes I know. Encase the text you want to change with [] at either end. For example, if want to make text bold, type the letter b in the first pair brackets and /b in the second pair. The letter i and /i make text italicised. Press the quote button to how I've changed the text below.

url and images are inserted using the codes below.

bold
italics

To restore finished wood furniture, steep two tea bags in hot water for 10 minutes. Let cool, then dampen a clean soft cloth with tea and wipe over wood furniture. It will bring out the woods natural color and shine.

Excellent, PG Tips i presume

We have a Kindle here somewhere - I've nothing against it (I've read a couple of books on it - one by Terry Pratchett and another by that Nesbo bloke), but I still prefer "real" books for now. Possibly my age?

At least for me, it's probably best suited as something to tag along if you're going to be away from home and are unlikely to either be near a decent book store or don't feel like carrying more than you have to.

Thanks.

This should be in the Kindle fiddling thread, obviously.
